The Younger The Priests The More They Are Critical of Francis' Vatican II Backwardness

A 2021 survey by the Austin Institute for the Study of Family and Culture queried US priests on issues including abortion, homosexual behaviour, and their approval of Francis.

The result: The younger the priests the more likely they affirm Catholic positions. 90% of priests ordained after 2010 said that abortion is always a sin compared to just 56% of those ordained prior to 1980, the generation of Francis who was ordained in 1969.

89% of priests ordained after 2010 said homosexual behavior is always sinful, compared to 34% of those pre-1980. The numbers are similar concerning masturbation, non-marital sex and contraception.

The priests were also asked about possible personal sexual deviations. Around 21% of those ordained prior to 1981 said they identify as “homosexual” or as “somewhere in between, but more on the homosexual side” compared to 5% of the priests ordained after 2000. The percentage of homosexuals in society is below 1%.

92% of the older priests said that younger priests are more "conservative," meaning Catholic, than past generations.

Francis’ approval rate is low among young priests. Only 20% ordained in 2010 or later "strongly approve" of Francis compared to 80% of those ordained before 1980. The survey’s charts in English below:

From the Pillar

Special report: Who we are, and what we believe

But one trend that defines our work is a downward trend of Catholic sacramental initiation in the first place

Thirty-three percent of American children born in 1965 received Catholic baptisms, while only 15% of children born in 2019 were baptized Catholics.

More rotten fruit from VC II.

The decades-long push to clean the seminaries of pedophiles (and hence homosexuals) means that automatically, they are at the same time clearing the seminaries of leftists.

That will make a much more attractive atmosphere to orthodox Catholics to participate.

I mostly attend Bible churches, but once in a while I go to the local Catholic church just for worship. Thankfully, there seems to be none of Francis’ teachings there, at least that are apparent to me.

Hoping that these parish priests don’t fall to his false teachings.

How did they conduct this survey?

What percentage of priests who were asked to participate in the survey agreed to do so?

How does a priest answer a survey with an answer to a question about abortion or same sex sexual activity without affirming Catholic doctrine by stating that they believe that both are gravely sinful?

What the heck is up with this survey.

I have to say, the numbers correspond to what I'd expect listening to the homilies of the old vs. the young. The young men are on fire for God. Many of the old I've listened to are bored and boring, with the philosophical and theological problems that go with that. The French for that is ennuie--boredom with life itself.

Your are welcome anytime. Make an appointment with the priest and sit down and talk about some of you “Bible Church” teachings.

..............................................
Not sure that’s accurate but if it is just think about the enormous influence that measly one percent of the population has had on virtually every segment of American society. Talk about the tail wagging the dog! It’s mind boggling!

It’s not for nothing that people refer to VC II as the Satan Vatican Council!
