Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Ezra 10
The People’s Confession of Sin
10 While Ezra was praying and confessing, weeping and throwing himself down before the house of God, a large crowd of Israelites—men, women and children—gathered around him. They too wept bitterly. 2 Then Shekaniah son of Jehiel, one of the descendants of Elam, said to Ezra, “We have been unfaithful to our God by marrying foreign women from the peoples around us. But in spite of this, there is still hope for Israel. 3 Now let us make a covenant before our God to send away all these women and their children, in accordance with the counsel of my lord and of those who fear the commands of our God. Let it be done according to the Law. 4 Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it.”
5 So Ezra rose up and put the leading priests and Levites and all Israel under oath to do what had been suggested. And they took the oath. 6 Then Ezra withdrew from before the house of God and went to the room of Jehohanan son of Eliashib. While he was there, he ate no food and drank no water, because he continued to mourn over the unfaithfulness of the exiles.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty and Eternal God,
How Excellent is Your Name Over All The Earth!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise,
For Your Alone Are Holy,
You Alone Are God,
You Alone Are The Most High!
Omnipotent,
Omniscient,
and Omnipresent,
You See The End From The Beginning
And The Beginning From The End.
We Thank You For Your Precious and Holy Word,
Which Gives Us daily Insight Into Your Eternal Mind,
Your Righteousness,
and Your Love For Us.
Abba, Father! How Wonderful You Are!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
Let all that has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.
God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Marijuana became "legal" in my state within the last few years.However, driving under its influence is still against the law. And so, it annoys me when I am riding my motorcycle and am suddenly enveloped in a cloud of marijuana smoke from a passing car or truck. Nobody else seems to mind, so am I being "legalistic" about it? No, I don't think so. Not only are they breaking the law, they are endangering others.
Being both a musician and a biker, I am exposed to second-hand smoke in social settings as well. Since it is in a private setting, nobody is breaking the law. And yet, since I believe that my Body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit, I don't want to introduce a substance into my body that might harm it (legal, illegal, or mandated). And so, I politely decline. I have to tell you that the Bikers and Musicians are far more tolerant and respectful of my decision than "The Powers That Be" are about certain medicines. But I digress. We are talking about the Law here, not marijuana or vaccinations.
Ezra was faced with a miserable choice. The Levites who would be ministering in the new Temple had not only broken the law, they had broken GOD'S Law. The humanitarian issues that arose were also a horror...there were women, children, and families involved. No matter what decision Ezra made, people were going to get hurt.
This can also be compared to the situation on our Southern Border. There are women, children, and families involved here as well.
Like the truck driver toking away as he drives around the city, and the "Coyote" smuggling unaccompanied minors across the border, the Law is being broken and usually ends in disaster and death.
There was a reason God ordered the People of Israel not to intermarry with Pagans. Breaking the law has consequences.
In the Age of Grace, where we have been freed from the law of Sin and Death by The Blood of the Lamb, we are no longer in bondage to the Law of Moses. Even though "all things are legal", not everything is good for you. Natural law still applies, like the Laws of Gravity and Thermodynamics. Breaking Civil Law also has consequences. And lastly, sometimes even when something is legal, one has to just say no.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 46
To the leader. Of the Korahites. According to Alamoth. A Song.
1 God is our refuge and strength,
a very present* help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
3 though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
Selah
4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
5 God is in the midst of the city;* it shall not be moved;
God will help it when the morning dawns.
6 The nations are in an uproar, the kingdoms totter;
he utters his voice, the earth melts.
7 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge.*
Selah
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord;
see what desolations he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
he breaks the bow, and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields with fire.
10 ‘Be still, and know that I am God!
I am exalted among the nations,
I am exalted in the earth.’
11 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge.*

When God’s laws are broken, many innocents are affected.
I digress, but a great quote from Chief Dan George:
A child does not question the wrongs of grown-ups, he suffers them.
