What About The Sabbath?

Christ became our sabbath, we ‘rest’ in Him every day.. rest is what that word sabbath means, not some pagan named day of the week.

This threads reads like the fulfillment of Amos 8 prophecy…whole chapter, but especially verse 11.

According to the physician Luke, Mary the earthly mother of Christ descended from two tribes, the king line Judah and the priest line Levi… you know after the order of Melchizedek.. there are 12 tribes of Jacob and each one of them were given their future by their earthly father, recorded in Genesis 49…

Yet Paul pen about those sent the spirit of slumber..Romans 11. So in spite of available ‘knowledge’ if the Heavenly Father sends that spirit no man or his doctrine can remove that Heaven sent slumber.

Given who is the head pappy sitting atop your denomination, think he was Heaven sent? Or maybe the Maker was taking a break? Or perhaps the teaching of Peter is being fulfilled? Christ without even a hint of sin gave His flesh life.. there is none before or since that can come close to His perfection. So stop whining and bellyaching about poor poor pitiful Catholics.. This nation is now ruled by Catholics, and it is looking like the days of old inquisition are being resumed and with the full blessing right out of Rome.

Yes she you are correct, is a descendant of David via Solomon's brother Nathen. Plus we know she is a cousin of Elizabeth, and thus she is also a descendant of Aaron. So as you state she is both a Levite, and a Jew, which makes Jesus the perfect High Priest in the order of Melchizede

Now, as an aside, you mention Judah's prophecy as handed down by his father in (Genesis 49:9-12), Part of the prophecy is what is said in verse (10);

The scepter shall not depart from Judah,
Nor a lawgiver from between his feet,
Until Shiloh comes;

I am working on a book on the connection of this account in Luke's Gospel of when Jesus was 12. ( Luke 2:41-50 )

I have came so close to connecting Luke's account to the fulfillment of (Genesis 49:10) Jesus was referred to as Shilo by ancient Scribes and Priests. Below is an excerpt from what I am working on for a book. If it teases your curiosity, I will let you read what I have, but I have never posted in on FR or anywhere else. I just want to give you enough to get an idea of my thought process.

Shiloh has come, and no one recognized him. Had the Jewish Scholars been doing their work, they would have known the Christ was in their presence. Least of all, the moment they lost their scepter, they should have been looking for Him. How many times did Jesus perform miracles in the presence of the Pharisees, the Sadducee, and the Scribes, just to be accused of doing the miracles with Satan's help. Had they done their homework; they would have been like the Magi who took a 4 Month journey to follow a star to Bethlehem. They were looking for signs of the Messiah, but not the Jewish Religious leaders.

When Jesus healed the Leper in Mark's gospel, he told the man;

“ See that you say nothing to anyone; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

Up until Jesus walked amongst men, only two people in the history of the Bible were ever cured of leprosy. Moses sister Miriam, and Naaman, the commander of the Syrian army. Moses told the Priests what must be done if one is cured of leprosy, so when the man showed up, they should have had a clue then. Yet, they were no more ready for their Messiah than the Scholars who were baffled by Jesus's understanding when he was in the Temple at 12 years old.

The scepter, Jacob mentioned in his blessing to Judah, would now be in the hands of a leader of Judah until 6 A.D. This date is of extreme importance when speaking of the fulfilled Messianic prophecy I am unfolding for you to see.

For the next 1050 years or so, the scepter of power to practice capital punishment will be in the hands of the Judean people. Whether it be as a united Kingdom under David and Solomon, as a divided Kingdom with the Southern vs the Northern Kingdom, or during captivity, the leaders of Judah would exercise their right to execute citizens for crimes without any other power stopping them. Yes, Both the Babylonian and the Persian rulers allowed Judah to practice law and meet out justice as their laws dictated. Now to get the year correct I need to go to the writings of Flavius Josephus, in his work, the Antiquities of the Jews. He writes that the following events took place 37 years after Augustus Caesar defeated Antony in the battle of Actium. The battle of Actium took place in 31 B.C. Add 37 years and we have 6 A.D.

Why?
Because He died to be the perfect sacrifice for all those sins that are caused by not following the Commandments.
All the offerings for sin were finished on one day.
Passover.
Not by Moses’s lamb.
But by the Lamb of God, which takes away the sins of the world.

It appears very content with being fed
60 fold
It appears to hear the Covenant law.
100 told
It appears those who have the Commandments written on their hearts

What’s the patience of the saints?
Faith?
No.
Faith and the keeping of the Commandments

The top 10, the eternal Covenant Law, appears to be foundational to the New Covenant.

And the sacrifice for sins is not blood of animals, but now, the perfect sacrifice of Christ.
The Lamb.
The Passover Lamb.
No more offerings for sin ,according to law,is required.
That’s all been taken away.
No more meal, drink,sin offerings according to the Old Covenant.

Covenant of Grace.
Just don’t allow grace equal to license to sin or an elimination of the Covenant Law,the 10 Commandments.

It’s part of 2 of the 3 folds discussed in His Parable.
The 30, the least of the 3, have no Commandments.
Which may be why He warns the least in the Kingdom are those who break and teach others to break,the least of the Commandments.

The opposite of those who are to be called great in the Kingdom.

Somebody may want to ask their priest and pastor or rabbi why 30,60,100 isn’t taught in Judaism and Christianity.

It seems they stop at 50.

Yes it does, and Jesus opened up the full meaning of it when'd He proclaimed , "He IS the Lord of the Sabbath”.

In Him is our rest, so we look to Jesus. I can worship through Him, not through a day, not through a Month of the year, not through a season of the year, not through the sun, not through a new Moon, nor a Full Moon. Through Jesus, and only Jesus is how I reach the father, and I can do that at any hour or any day.

"Lord of the Sabbath". Not lord of the first day of the week. Not lord of just any day of the week. Lord of the Sabbath to show He is connected to that day of rest. He is the rest. And what day do we rest? Because The Lord God declared six days shalt thou labor but rest on the seventh. If you come to Jesus to rest in Him, you do so on His terms, not yours.
Yes you can pray to Him any day of the week. But the seventh belongs to Him. That is the day he wished you to devote to communing with Him without distractions of day to day work. That is His desire but you can do it your way.

Nice try delchiante but scripture is clear about the Old Covenant of Grace replacing the New Covenant of the Law .

In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

Hebrews 8:13.

The New Covenant (NC) is VASTLY different from the Old Covenant (OC) because the NC is established on grace whereas the OC is based on the law.

Grace and the works of the law are polar opposites.

And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Romans 11:6.

In the New Testament, Jewish followers of Jesus CONTINUED keeping the Law of Moses. This includes Paul and all of the apostles.

They all came into agreement that Gentile converts were NOT converts to Judaism and did not need to follow the Law of Moses. This pertains to things that are exclusively commanded to Jews, such as Kosher diets AND Sabbath keeping.

Circumcision is another example, even though God gave circumcision to Abraham (before Moses) and it applies to ALL of Abraham’s descendants. Not just the Jews (descendants of Jacob). For example, Arabs fall in this category.

Gentiles are never commanded in the Bible to keep the Sabbath except when they are “sojourners” within the land of Israel. See Deuteronomy 5:14 and 14:21.

All of the ten commandments are reiterated in the New Testament as commands of God that apply to all people, except the Jewish practice of Sabbath keeping. But even this commandment is taught to apply to all followers of Christ in the spiritual sense in which we have entered into a spiritual Sabbath rest by which we cease from our own works of righteousness and are imputed with His works of righteousness.

As the article above mentions, He invites people to come to Him for rest.

It is about a relationship rather than rules.

The Old Covenant is done away with.
There is no more sacrifice that atones for sin.

For if we sin willingly after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins..
But a fearful looking for judgment, violent fire which shall devour our enemies.
He that despises Moses law dies without mercy in two or three witnesses.
How much sorer punishment suppose you shall be worthy, which treads under foot the Son of God, and counts the blood of the Covenant an unholy thing, wherewith he was santcified does despite the Spirit of Grace..

Again, there is a Law that goes with a Covenant.
You can know it’s the same Ten Commandments that physical Israel received when they were delivered from bondage of slavery, by the blood of the Passover Lamb..

And like the parable teaches, there are places in the Kingdom.
Some least.

Christianity stops at 50,thanks to Satan.
That might be why Christianity thinks grace is license.
Or that the 10 Commandments are suggestions and optional.

There’s a place for believers in the Kingdom with that opinion, apparently.

60 and 100 in Christ’s parable shows the Ten Commandments have a place in His New Covenant.

And why Satan’s lawlessness and disobedience is a mark of a beast and not a sign/seal of lawfulness and obedience.
A place where His Commandments were to be placed.
One ones hand and forehead.
And why there is no blue being worn by the White in Revelation.
Blue is the color of His Commandments.

I will put my laws on their hearts.
A New Covenant.
His New Covenant has greater responsibilities.
Greater promises.
Same law.
Spiritual now.
Not the letter.
But same law.

And when we sin,we don’t have to travel to Jerusalem and slice the necks of any animals anymore.
That’s the sacrificial law that has been eliminated.

That is Amazing Grace.

We actually deserve to die for our sins.
But He died.
So we can live.
In sin? In transgression of His Covenant law?

No.

We won’t agree.
But there’s probably a lot we won’t agree on.

That’s okay.
