Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Ezra 9:5
5Â Then, at the evening sacrifice, I rose from my self-abasement, with my tunic and cloak torn, and fell on my knees with my hands spread out to the Lord my God

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our God,
How Excellent is Your Name Over All The Earth!
Blessed Are You,
King of The Universe,
And Sanctified is Your Most Holy Name!
How Happy we are to be called of You,
To Come into Your House With Singing and Praise,
To Exalt Your Name Together, Forever!
We Seek You, and Find You,
And You Deliver Us From Our Fears.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
Let all that has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.
God Bless America.

Ezra is serious about interceding on behalf of his people. He throws himself upon the mercy of God with passion and humility.
But what if his prayers are answered in a way that is not what he expected or wanted? Will he still abide by God's Decree?
Sometimes we pray with so much fervor that we expect God to answer our requests according to our own plan. For example, we can not expect God to grant our request to cover up sin, assist in deceit, or bless a lie.
In this case, the People of Israel had committed a grave sin. Now, it is my opinion that the sin was not marrying foreign women, for if they had embraced the One True God in the process, it had precedent in Rahab of Jericho and Ruth of Moab. Both of these women had been idolaters prior to their marriage to prominent men of Israel, but became Believers in the LORD.
Ezra, however, was faced with the opposite situation. Not ony did the men of Israel marry Gentile Women, they adopted the Gentile gods as well, and were bringing up their children in the religion of their captors. No matter what decision Ezra made, people were going to get hurt. That is the nature of sin.It devastates everything it touches, and leaves scars even when the situation is rectified.
This is why Jesus spoke of praying within God's Will. Scripture is quite explicit as to what God's Will is, as He gives us both Natural Law and the Written Law to guide us. I would never jump out of an airplane without a parachute, because I know there is a Law of Gravity. It is the same with prayer. While it's OK to pray for Justice, it is NOT OK to pray for Revenge. While it's appropriate to pray for healing, it is NOT OK to pray for invincibility. If one is filled with the Spirit of God, it becomes a blessing to pray in God's Will. What He wants is what you want too!
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

Psalm 33
1 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous.
Praise befits the upright.
2 Praise the Lord with the lyre;
make melody to him with the harp of ten strings.
3 Sing to him a new song;
play skilfully on the strings, with loud shouts.
4 For the word of the Lord is upright,
and all his work is done in faithfulness.
5 He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.
6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and all their host by the breath of his mouth.
7 He gathered the waters of the sea as in a bottle;
he put the deeps in storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord;
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
9 For he spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded, and it stood firm.
10 The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
he frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11 The counsel of the Lord stands for ever,
the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
12 Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage.
13 The Lord looks down from heaven;
he sees all humankind.
14 From where he sits enthroned he watches
all the inhabitants of the earth—
15 he who fashions the hearts of them all,
and observes all their deeds.
16 A king is not saved by his great army;
a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
17 The war horse is a vain hope for victory,
and by its great might it cannot save.
18 Truly the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his steadfast love,
19 to deliver their soul from death,
and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Our soul waits for the Lord;
he is our help and shield.
21 Our heart is glad in him,
because we trust in his holy name.
22 Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
even as we hope in you.
