“LORD, the world turns against Christianity. We see today’s heroes of faith – persecuted believers who stare death in the eye without flinching or caving in on their beliefs. Many go to their graves giving You praise and glory. Give us that fervor and passion as we build our faith by hearing Spirit-filled teachers, preachers, evangelists, and meditating on the Holy Scriptures. “

Lord God, praying in agreement.

Asking now for You to mold the prayer warriors and intercessors here into what You want us to do.
Praying for more intercessors.
Have recently picked up again a book about Rees Howells, prayer intercessor in Wales, last century.

pdf is here: https://www.clcpublications.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/ReesHowellsIntercessorSample.pdf

Lord God, he led a tiny Bible college group to pray before and during WWII against Hitler, whom he called “the beast”.

Please raise up more. Make us like that. We are again and always in war, and need more help and more laborers, and more people to turn the hearts of our leaders and those in authority to You and to do Your will.

We ask that You grant us to do that which You would have us do, we ask that You work through us to take Your gospel to the world. Raise up more intercessors, dear God. Make us the ones here to be as effective as him. Mould us. Send more laborers out into the harvest field as in Matthew 9:38, Luke 10:2 and John 4:35.

Grant us more time before Revelation 14:15

“Revelation 14:15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.”

Am quoting from article here, dear Lord:

Rees Howells: How Prayers Played a Role in Ending Hitler’s Reign of Death
By Matt Lockett

“The world became our parish and we were led to be responsible to intercede for countries and nations.” –Rees Howells
(Grubb 273)

“On December 26, 1934 Rees Howells received a vision from the Holy Spirit in the middle of the night. It was 3am, and the Lord began to call him into faith for world evangelization and the completion of the Great Commission.

Rees was an intercessor with powerful testimonies of answered prayer, so he took this very seriously. He knew it would naturally require him to take direct responsibility to see it come to pass. His burden of prayer shifted from local concerns to that of national and international focus. Rees became a man with a world vision—the “Every Creature Vision” as Jesus gave His disciples in Mark 16:15.”

“We’re all on mission whether we choose to act like it or not. What is universal to everyone endeavoring to follow Jesus and advance His kingdom is the need to live a life of faith and radical obedience.

Under the black clouds of world war, Rees declared:

“The Holy Spirit does not know doubt, misery or worry, these are of self…Unless we believe in a test we have never believed…If I only take a thought that the devil is stronger than the Holy Spirit I can close this book (the Bible) once and for all.” –Rees Howells (Maton, 215)

. . .”The true nature of intercession is sacrifice. Rees Howells would point out there’s a big difference between “prayer warriors” and “intercessors.” Prayer warriors may pray with great intensity yet walk away before the job is done. Intercessors take responsibility to see things through, regardless of how long it takes.”. . .

Lord God, we are learning what You have already done through others. Please use us to continue and expand Your work, through intercessors here and elsewhere, that the light of this country be seen to be wholly of You and that You show us how to pray to defeat the enemy threatening to completely overwhelm us, fueled by the devil’s fifth column inside our country, our government, our schools, our law enforcement, our armed forces and our churches.

“Royal Air Force pilots were outnumbered four to one at the beginning of the Battle of Britain. On all accounts, it should have been a losing battle. However, when the Nazi advance was mysteriously turned away right when all hope seemed lost, Winston Churchill famously said of the small group of pilots who had maintained air supremacy: “Never has so much been owed by so many to so few.”

Those words ought to inspire us today—those who are contending in prayer for spiritual air supremacy, standing in the victory of the cross of Christ like Rees Howells and his company.

How thankful we are that God had this company of hidden intercessors, whose lives were on the altar day after day as they stood in the gap for the deliverance of Britain.”
(Grubb, 283)

“Every now and then your spirit gets arrested by a line in a book. The story of some historical person or event leaves a mark on you in some deep, unseen way. As it ruminates in your spirit, it creates a conviction—a hunger—to experience those same realities. You begin to think, If God did it before, maybe He will do it again in my own life.”

Heavenly Father, please do this again, through us. Use us. Send more. Give us souls. Send us out as laborers, help us witness to our city councils, our mayors, our county boards, our state legislators, our governors, our representatives in congress, our senators, our local and state law enforcement and all those in the FBI and our armed forces.

Make us intercessors and soul winners. Make us willing to be willing. Us us to pray and defeat the adversary and win souls for Your kingdom. We began by praying for this nation Lord, and for souls. Let there be no conflict.

In Jesus’ Name, amen.

All you who are heartened by the quotes from Rees Howells would be inspired by the biographic work “Rees Howells: InNtercessor” by Norman Grubb.

https://www.amazon.com/Rees-Howells-Intercessor-Norman-Grubb/dp/0875081886/

The solid testimony of God’s faithfulness in answering the prayers of His saints is truly inspiring, and greatly needed.

For all desiring to build up their own life of prayer I also very highly recommend “Growing In Prayer” by Mike Bickle. Everyone who struggles with any aspect of prayer will appreciate Mike’s candid account of his own very humble beginnings in cultivating his prayer life. This is a very encouraging, and very practical book.
