The Australian Union Conference (AUC) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has appointed Lyndelle Peterson as a part-time Ministerial Association associate secretary after the AUC Executive Committee created the position in May 2021.
Peterson is the first female Seventh-day Adventist pastor to be employed to work across all areas of the Ministerial Association, including ministry development, resourcing, and working with conference Ministerial leaders to develop and implement strategies to support and inspire pastors around Australia.
...The AUC Executive Committee also voted to introduce a Women in Pastoral Ministry (WiPM) scholarship, which will assist women already studying or thinking about studying ministry at Avondale University or Mamarapha College with their tuition fees.
....AUC president Terry Johnson said he is encouraged that church administration in Australia is making these appointments and showing support of women in pastoral ministry and leadership positions.
“The AUC wants to show that we value the contribution women make to ministry. It is important to have good representation across our pastoral team, at a union level, conference level, and local church level,” Johnson said.
“Having Lyndelle and Murray working in the Ministerial Association and introducing a Women in Pastoral Ministry Scholarship are good steps on the journey of support for our pastors and churches.”

Members of the clergy across western Jamaica say they are hurting from the latest sex scandal to rock the church following the arrest of 39-year-old Jason Rose, pastor of New Life Apostolic Church in Montego Bay, charged for raping a 15-year-old congregant.
Pastor Charles Brevitt of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, who made it clear that he is not implying Rose is guilty of the allegations, however argued that even though the church has remained resilient, it has been stigmatised by these egregious sex scandals.
It happens in every church, Crohn’sos. The SDA church is no exception. However, YOUR church is systemically HOMOSEXUAL and full of PEDIFILE PREDATORS, and there is a long, documented history of child molestation, rape, and coverup. To my knowledge, if the SDA church found out about such an occurrence, that person is kicked out and referred to law enforcement. Doesn't matter when a church was formed. In the letters to the seven churches, the threat of having their lampstands removed focused on their continued faithfulness and love, not their date of origin.
My "church" is titled "The Ekklesia("church" in the Greek) of the First-Born, and the locale of its sole headquarters is God's Heaven alone. It was formed In 33 Anno Domini, forty-nine days after the resurrection of its High Priest's resurrection back to life out of the dead ones, ten days after His ascension into His Father's Heaven, where He was re-seated there on His Throne at His Father's right hand, from whence He rules His Assembly of Spirit-born Citizen-Servants.
Its first autonomous independent earthly regular local gathering was instituted that first day of the week by the induction of ten dozen of the High Priest's followers, who being loyally obedient were gathered together according to His command. It is my sincere desire that you too have been accepted in The Beloved by His Father through regeneration in the Spirit through faith alone in the Jesus of the Bible and the shedding of His Blood alone, and have received His promise of never-ending eternal life, growing in it through The Father's bestowal of a justified practice of holiness of mind and conduct, meeting regularly with such other children of The Father to govern as much of His earthly estate as he has apportioned you, so that you may ultimately receive His Son's undiluted approval with commensurate rewards in addition to His freely given everlasting life.
