Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Ecclesiastes 6

6 I have seen another evil under the sun, and it weighs heavily on mankind: 2 God gives some people wealth, possessions and honor, so that they lack nothing their hearts desire, but God does not grant them the ability to enjoy them, and strangers enjoy them instead. This is meaningless, a grievous evil. 3 A man may have a hundred children and live many years; yet no matter how long he lives, if he cannot enjoy his prosperity and does not receive proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he. 4 It comes without meaning, it departs in darkness, and in darkness its name is shrouded. 5 Though it never saw the sun or knew anything, it has more rest than does that man— 6 even if he lives a thousand years twice over but fails to enjoy his prosperity. Do not all go to the same place?

7  Everyone’s toil is for their mouth,
    yet their appetite is never satisfied.

8  What advantage have the wise over fools?
What do the poor gain
    by knowing how to conduct themselves before others?

9  Better what the eye sees
    than the roving of the appetite.
This too is meaningless,
    a chasing after the wind.

10  Whatever exists has already been named,
    and what humanity is has been known;
no one can contend
    with someone who is stronger.

11  The more the words,
    the less the meaning,
    and how does that profit anyone?
12 For who knows what is good for a person in life, during the few and meaningless days they pass through like a shadow? Who can tell them what will happen under the sun after they are gone?

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Heavenly Father,
How Wonderful,
How Glorious,
How Excellent is Your Most Holy Name!
Our Hearts Overflow with Worship and Wonder at Your Glory!
Teach us To Put Our Confidence,
Not in Riches or Material Things,
But Only in You,
Everlasting and Almighty God!

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

Let all that has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

God Bless America.

Go to any search engine and enter "Bond Villain". You will get lists of fictional characters who were the main antagonists of the Super-spy "James Bond". The concept of an evil, powerful, absurdly wealthy villain who uses his wealth and power to rule the world, was not original with Ian Flemming. History is replete with Warlords and Emperors, including Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, Napoleon, Stalin, and Hitler.

What makes the "Bond Villain" a little different is that, instead of using vast armies to conquer the world, he (or she) uses business and technology.

The idea of getting devices into every home, and then using those devices to track and control the entire populaion, is also not a new one. George Orwell predicted this with his "Telescreens" in the dystopian novel "1984". The Bond Villains and Big Brother were entertaining fiction, or so we thought. Today's meglomaniacs use media, medicine, telecommunications, entertainment, and education in ways that would have amazed Dr. No or Goldfinger. What's more, these villains have spread the notion that they are benevolent philanthropists, whose only motivation is the betterment of mankind. That's when they are the most dangerous!

In Solomon's dissapointed elder years, he pondered the futility of wealth, fame, power, even art and culture. But, as we have seen, all of these things are empty without God. Solomon's reign was a Golden Age for the people of Israel. And yet, his old age wis filled with disappointment and regret.

Solomon would have been happier with less Gold and more GOD.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 31

To the leader. A Psalm of David.

1 In you, O Lord, I seek refuge;
do not let me ever be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me.
2 Incline your ear to me;
rescue me speedily.
Be a rock of refuge for me,
a strong fortress to save me.

3 You are indeed my rock and my fortress;
for your name’s sake lead me and guide me,
4 take me out of the net that is hidden for me,
for you are my refuge.
5 Into your hand I commit my spirit;
you have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God.

6 You hate* those who pay regard to worthless idols,
but I trust in the Lord.
7 I will exult and rejoice in your steadfast love,
because you have seen my affliction;
you have taken heed of my adversities,
8 and have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy;
you have set my feet in a broad place.

9 Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am in distress;
my eye wastes away from grief,
my soul and body also.
10 For my life is spent with sorrow,
and my years with sighing;
my strength fails because of my misery,*
and my bones waste away.

11 I am the scorn of all my adversaries,
a horror* to my neighbours,
an object of dread to my acquaintances;
those who see me in the street flee from me.
12 I have passed out of mind like one who is dead;
I have become like a broken vessel.
13 For I hear the whispering of many—
terror all around!—
as they scheme together against me,
as they plot to take my life.

14 But I trust in you, O Lord;
I say, ‘You are my God.’
15 My times are in your hand;
deliver me from the hand of my enemies and persecutors.
16 Let your face shine upon your servant;
save me in your steadfast love.
17 Do not let me be put to shame, O Lord,
for I call on you;
let the wicked be put to shame;
let them go dumbfounded to Sheol.
18 Let the lying lips be stilled
that speak insolently against the righteous
with pride and contempt.

19 O how abundant is your goodness
that you have laid up for those who fear you,
and accomplished for those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of everyone!
20 In the shelter of your presence you hide them
from human plots;
you hold them safe under your shelter
from contentious tongues.

21 Blessed be the Lord,
for he has wondrously shown his steadfast love to me
when I was beset as a city under siege.
22 I had said in my alarm,
‘I am driven far* from your sight.’
But you heard my supplications
when I cried out to you for help.

23 Love the Lord, all you his saints.
The Lord preserves the faithful,
but abundantly repays the one who acts haughtily.
24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who wait for the Lord.
