Francis Visit: Extremely Low Turnout, Compulsory Vaccinations Reversed

Slovakia reversed on Saturday its policy of only allowing Covid-19 vaccinated people to attend public events during Francis September 12-15 visit.

The reason is the very low registration numbers. 300,000 people were expected for the papal mass at the shrine of Sastin but only 30,000 people have registered so far.

“A negative test or proof of overcoming Covid-19 in the last 180 days will be sufficient to get a ticket,” the Slovak bishops announced.

In Slovakia, 49.5% of adults are fully vaccinated, compared to over 70% in the EU.

I guess catholics who have suffered under communist governments aren't that fond of a pope who praises communism

A former Communist country has little desire to see the first Communist Pope. It is no more complicated than that.

What I give the Europeans a LOT of credit for is that they are well aware of the dangers of these “passports”, and will act to protect those who will not or cannot take the shot, even if some of them have taken the shot themselves.

Most people very likely assumed they would not be allowed to gather for the Pope. So many public events are either sharply curtailed and restricted in numbers or simply cancelled for now ‘due to COVID’ policies.
OR....Maybe this Pope just doesn’t inspire as many Catholics to run out and see him face to face.

**I was about to say this is Melania Trump’s home country, but it’s not. She is orginally from Slovenia, not Slovakia.

It’s no mystery why Catholics are unenthusiastic about welcoming the Catholic faith’s leading antagonist. You can be beloved by the secular liberal elite OR by the Catholic faithful... but not both.

That’s right. They know one when they see one and don’t want to have anything to do with him.

I’d venture to guess that most of those who want to see him are hardcore leftists nostalgic for the former Communist regime. Plus a few Catholics thrown in who respect the office, but not necessarily the man holding it.

People don’t want to get the Mark of the Beast to see the pope who is in reality a minion of the Beast.

Well, I’m 100% Slovak, both parents & grandparents and Roman Catholic, so I’m qualified to tell the heretic Pope and his bunch of pedophile priests to Go To Hell, do not pass go and do not collect $200. I really need to go visit the old country one of these days.

Although I don't think any of us are qualified to condemn anyone else to Hell, I do think you will be safe to practice the Faith in any of the four countries of the Visegrad Group.
