Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 148

1  Praise the Lord.[a]
Praise the Lord from the heavens;
    praise him in the heights above.

2  Praise him, all his angels;
    praise him, all his heavenly hosts.

3  Praise him, sun and moon;
    praise him, all you shining stars.

4  Praise him, you highest heavens
    and you waters above the skies.

5  Let them praise the name of the Lord,
    for at his command they were created,

6  and he established them for ever and ever—
    he issued a decree that will never pass away.

7  Praise the Lord from the earth,
    you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,

8  lightning and hail, snow and clouds,
    stormy winds that do his bidding,

9  you mountains and all hills,
    fruit trees and all cedars,

10  wild animals and all cattle,
    small creatures and flying birds,

11  kings of the earth and all nations,
    you princes and all rulers on earth,

12  young men and women,
    old men and children.

13  Let them praise the name of the Lord,
    for his name alone is exalted;
    his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.

14  And he has raised up for his people a horn,[b]
    the praise of all his faithful servants,
    of Israel, the people close to his heart.

Praise the Lord.

Our Father in Heaven,
We Praise Your Most Holy Name!

1. Praise the LORD!

Praise the LORD from the heavens;
Praise Him in the heights!
2. Praise Him, all His angels;
Praise Him, all His hosts!
3. Praise Him, sun and moon;
Praise Him, all you stars of light!
4. Praise Him, you heavens of heavens,
And you waters above the heavens!

From The Rising of the Sun,
To its Setting,
You Name Shall be Praised.
For You Alone Are Worthy;
You Alone Are LORD;
You Alone Are Holy,
You Alone Are The One True God of The Universe!

5. Let them praise the name of the LORD,
For He commanded and they were created.
6. He also established them forever and ever;
He made a decree which shall not pass away.

We Come into Your Presence With Singing
And Into Your Courts With Praise,
For Your Are Eternal,
Omnipotent,
Omniscient,
Omnipresent,
Just And Righteous,
Our Creator,
and The Creator of All That Is!

7. Praise the LORD from the earth,
You great sea creatures and all the depths;
8. Fire and hail, snow and clouds;
Stormy wind, fulfilling His word;
9. Mountains and all hills;
Fruitful trees and all cedars;
10. Beasts and all cattle;
Creeping things and flying fowl;
11. Kings of the earth and all peoples;
Princes and all judges of the earth;
12. Both young men and maidens;
Old men and children.

It Is You That Command Nature and All It Contains,
The Earth is Yours,
and All of It's Creatures.
You can Make them Swarm or Die off;
It Is Your Will.
Even The dust of the earth is at Your Command.

13. Let them praise the name of the LORD,
For His name alone is exalted;
His glory is above the earth and heaven.
14. And He has exalted the horn of His people,
The praise of all His saints—
Of the children of Israel,
A people near to Him.

Praise the LORD!

Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our Beloved USA
We Ask That Your People Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Psalm 39

To the leader: to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.

1 I said, ‘I will guard my ways
that I may not sin with my tongue;
I will keep a muzzle on my mouth
as long as the wicked are in my presence.’
2 I was silent and still;
I held my peace to no avail;
my distress grew worse,
3 my heart became hot within me.
While I mused, the fire burned;
then I spoke with my tongue:

4 ‘Lord, let me know my end,
and what is the measure of my days;
let me know how fleeting my life is.
5 You have made my days a few handbreadths,
and my lifetime is as nothing in your sight.
Surely everyone stands as a mere breath.
Selah
6 Surely everyone goes about like a shadow.
Surely for nothing they are in turmoil;
they heap up, and do not know who will gather.

7 ‘And now, O Lord, what do I wait for?
My hope is in you.
8 Deliver me from all my transgressions.
Do not make me the scorn of the fool.
9 I am silent; I do not open my mouth,
for it is you who have done it.
10 Remove your stroke from me;
I am worn down by the blows* of your hand.

11 ‘You chastise mortals
in punishment for sin,
consuming like a moth what is dear to them;
surely everyone is a mere breath.
Selah

12 ‘Hear my prayer, O Lord,
and give ear to my cry;
do not hold your peace at my tears.
For I am your passing guest,
an alien, like all my forebears.
13 Turn your gaze away from me, that I may smile again,
before I depart and am no more.’

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Electronic Keyboards have come a long way since the 100 Pound Fender Rhodes Mike and I used to lug up a flight of stairs every Saturday Night. My dear hubby would remark, between groans, that I should have taken up the flute instead of the piano. In the very early 1980's, I found a new device on sale at a department store. It was a CASIO Electronic Keyboard, with 8 Beats and 8 Voices, two octaves of "mini-keys" and a little speaker. It worked on six D Batteries, so it didn't need a cord, and could fit in a backpack. Although it sounded like a Circus Calliope, I bought one, and became an instant one-woman-band. I purchased each new model that came out, which ran the gamut through CASIO, YAMAHA, KORG, TECHNICS, ROLAND and more. Some of these were professional models that could cost as much as $7000 (tools of the trade!), and others were cheaper, stacked in piles at Walmart during the Christmas Season. I synched them together using MIDI Technology, which is an interface between brands, and recorded entire albums using electronic keyboards. They were all different, but they all had one thing in common...a DEMO Button.

The Demo Button, when pressed, was supposed to demonstrate what was possible with the keyboard. It could not be a recognizable melody, due to International Copyright Laws. Although the Demo allegedly used only the features of the keyboard itself, the resulting music was usually much too complex to have been recorded without layering and multi-tracking. Nobody could just sit down and PLAY it like that without pre-recording segments of it. Anyway, that was my impression.

In the mid eighties, I purchased the latest YAMAHA incarnation in the "PSR Series". I pressed the demo button, and was treated to an absolutely beautiful compostion that had a beginning, a middle, and an end. I was doing my Devotional Reading as I listened, and it happened to be a Psalm. Suddenly, the words (KJV) synched up with the melody of the demo. It had a beginning, a middle, and an end. It was perfect. I pressed the button again, thinking I HAD to be dreaming. But there it was. I lugged the keyboard to church, plugged it into the sound system and played it for the pastor. I did the song the following Sunday as "Special Music" and it sounded great. There is no record of the performance, no recording of it, and the keyboard, church, pastor, congregation, are all gone. The church building has been turned into condos. I could not reproduce the song even if I spent all of my waking hours researching it. But, all is not lost. The LYRICS of the song are perfectly preserved in the 1611 Authorized King James Verson. It is Psalm 148.

The original CASIO with the 8 Beats and 8 Voices was given to an African Missionary, and is probably doing service in God's Kingdom to this day, somewhere in Africa.

Here is a song sung in Russian, can turn on English Closed Captions for subtitles, based on Psalm 39. 3.5 minutes.
Thought that Darth Vader posting Psalms would enjoy.

N.

Lord, Make Me to Know – Скажи мне, Господи

English lyrics
O Lord, make me to know what is my end
The number of my days, oh, what is it, what?
So I may know how frail I am,
So I may know my age, Lord!

You’ve made my days as a handbreadth
Just a brief time for me You measured
Surely, a mere breath
Any man on earth who’s present

Oh, listen to me, Lord, oh, hear my prayer,
To my cry open Your ears
Do not be silent, God, at my tears
For I’m a stranger
