Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 143

A psalm of David.

1  Lord, hear my prayer,
    listen to my cry for mercy;
in your faithfulness and righteousness
    come to my relief.

2  Do not bring your servant into judgment,
    for no one living is righteous before you.

3  The enemy pursues me,
    he crushes me to the ground;
he makes me dwell in the darkness
    like those long dead.

4  So my spirit grows faint within me;
    my heart within me is dismayed.

5  I remember the days of long ago;
    I meditate on all your works
    and consider what your hands have done.

6  I spread out my hands to you;
    I thirst for you like a parched land.[a]

7  Answer me quickly, Lord;
    my spirit fails.
Do not hide your face from me
    or I will be like those who go down to the pit.

8  Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
    for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
    for to you I entrust my life.

9  Rescue me from my enemies, Lord,
    for I hide myself in you.

10  Teach me to do your will,
    for you are my God;
may your good Spirit
    lead me on level ground.

11  For your name’s sake, Lord, preserve my life;
    in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble.

12  In your unfailing love, silence my enemies;
    destroy all my foes,
    for I am your servant.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Dear Father in Heaven,
Blessed Are You, Oh LORD,
Our God,
King of the Universe,
Ancient of Days,
Our Rock and Our Redeemer!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise,
For You Alone Are Worthy; You Alone Are Holy;
You Alone Are Righteous and Just;
And You Alone Are The One True God of Abraham!
How Wonderful Are Your Precepts;
How Precious Is Your WORD!
How Eternal and Sure Are Your Promises!

1. Hear my prayer, O LORD,
Give ear to my supplications!
In Your faithfulness answer me,
And in Your righteousness.
2. Do not enter into judgment with Your servant,
For in Your sight no one living is righteous.

Abba Father,
In a world of duplicity,
In A World of Unfaithfulness,
It is natural for people to assume that You Have
Forgotten Your Promises.
Have They Not Heard?
Even when we are not Faithful, You Are.
The Grass Withers,
And The Flowers Fade,
But Your Word Abides Forever.

3. For the enemy has persecuted my soul;
He has crushed my life to the ground;
He has made me dwell in darkness,
Like those who have long been dead.
4. Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me;
My heart within me is distressed.

You have established Your Covenant With Your People.
Your Word Declares it.
We pray For Your People,
According To Your Word,
According to Your Will,
And According to Your Promise.

5. I remember the days of old;
I meditate on all Your works;
I muse on the work of Your hands.
6. I spread out my hands to You;
My soul longs for You like a thirsty land.
(Selah)

Ah, LORD, God,
You Have Made The Heavens and the Earth
By Your Great Power.

7. Answer me speedily, O LORD;
My spirit fails!
Do not hide Your face from me,
Lest I be like those who go down into the pit.
8. Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning,
For in You do I trust;
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
For I lift up my soul to You.

9. Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies;
In You I take shelter.
10. Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Your Spirit is good.
Lead me in the land of uprightness.

We pray also for Our Beloved USA,
that it shall become a "land of uprightness"
and a "shining city on a hill"
once again for the world.
Heal our brokenness,
Hear the voice of the people as we cry out to You,
Redeem us,
and Restore our honor and dignity as a nation, Oh LORD!

11. Revive me, O LORD, for Your name’s sake!
For Your righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.
12. In Your mercy cut off my enemies,
And destroy all those who afflict my soul;
For I am Your servant.

Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our Beloved USA
We Ask That Your People Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Yesterday, after coming in from walking the dog, I detected a nasty odor in my house. I had noticed it before, but it had been so subtle that a scented candle or a little incense had dispelled it. But now it was unbearable. My mind raced through the possibilities. Perhaps a mouse had died under the house? Could it be (God Forbid!) a broken soil pipe? My washing machine has not yet been repaired and still has standing water in it (waiting for parts), so I checked that. The laundry was not the source of the smell, so I went outside under the trailer to see if it was the soil pipe. No odor outside, so that wasn't it. then I checked under the cabinets and appliances to see if it was a dead mouse, but that wasn't it either. Then it dawned on me...it was the portable air conditioner. Because of the tropical air, the A/C had been going full blast for days. Do those things have a filter? Perhaps it needed cleaning.

The unit, which resembles R2D2, has worked faithfully for five years. It doesn't look like a regular window A/C, and is free-standing. It looked like a sealed system, with no access to filters. I unplugged it, and rolled it out. After feeling around the back of the unit, I found a latch and out came the filter. It was NASTY, and the obvious source of the foul stench. I cleaned it thoroughly, sprayed it with disinfectant, let it dry, and reinstalled it. Problem Solved! And I didn't even have to call a repairman. All that is left is the washing machine. That will (hopefully) be resolved this week.

The stuff in the filter was an accumulation of what makes up the air we breathe. It is a concentration of dead skin cells (both human and animal), pollen, dust mites, and whatever else is in the air. Each particle by itself is nothing, but they build up, they become a disgusting organic mass. No wonder it smelled bad!

This is a perfect analogy for sin. Little lies, cover-ups, thefts, excuses, build up until the stink is unbearable. This presents a crossroads: Do we become "Nose-Blind" and ignore it? Do we try to cover it up with scented candles and incense? Or do we examine ourselves, allowing ourselves to be convicted by the Holy Spirit, find the source, and "Come Clean"?

Well, I know the answer, and I'm NOT going to wait five years for the next time!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

Isn’t that empowering when we fix things ourselves? I have an air purifier in my computer room, after 6 months the filter is nasty!

Adding my prayers for the Peace of Jerusalem and the World. God bless.

The contents of these filters shows us what we breathe in and out every day,

It’s a dirty world we live in! :-)

Psalm 5

To the leader: for the flutes. A Psalm of David.

1 Give ear to my words, O Lord;
give heed to my sighing.
2 Listen to the sound of my cry,
my King and my God,
for to you I pray.
3 O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice;
in the morning I plead my case to you, and watch.

4 For you are not a God who delights in wickedness;
evil will not sojourn with you.
5 The boastful will not stand before your eyes;
you hate all evildoers.
6 You destroy those who speak lies;
the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful.

7 But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love,
will enter your house,
I will bow down towards your holy temple
in awe of you.
8 Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness
because of my enemies;
make your way straight before me.

9 For there is no truth in their mouths;
their hearts are destruction;
their throats are open graves;
they flatter with their tongues.
10 Make them bear their guilt, O God;
let them fall by their own counsels;
because of their many transgressions cast them out,
for they have rebelled against you.

11 But let all who take refuge in you rejoice;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them,
so that those who love your name may exult in you.
12 For you bless the righteous, O Lord;
you cover them with favor as with a shield.

Bear with me here.

I already had an idea from reading the psalm, and now your narrative has confirmed it.

The idea stemmed from verse 2:

no one living is righteous before you

Universally, humanity denies this truth; yet the Bible repeats it again and again. My idea, prompted by the Spirit, is to scan the whole Bible and collect all those iterations.

Then, your narrative convinced me to proceed:

This is a perfect analogy for sin. Little lies, cover-ups, thefts, excuses, build up until the stink is unbearable. This presents a crossroads: Do we become "Nose-Blind" and ignore it? Do we try to cover it up with scented candles and incense? Or do we examine ourselves, allowing ourselves to be convicted by the Holy Spirit, find the source, and "Come Clean"?
