Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 138

Of David.

1  I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;
    before the “gods” I will sing your praise.

2  I will bow down toward your holy temple
    and will praise your name
    for your unfailing love and your faithfulness,
for you have so exalted your solemn decree
    that it surpasses your fame.

3  When I called, you answered me;
    you greatly emboldened me.

4  May all the kings of the earth praise you, Lord,
    when they hear what you have decreed.

5  May they sing of the ways of the Lord,
    for the glory of the Lord is great.

6  Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly;
    though lofty, he sees them from afar.

7  Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
    you preserve my life.
You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes;
    with your right hand you save me.

8  The Lord will vindicate me;
    your love, Lord, endures forever—
    do not abandon the works of your hands.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father, Who Art in Heaven
How Blessed and Glorious is Your Holy Name!

1. I will praise You with my whole heart;
Before the gods I will sing praises to You.
2. I will worship toward Your holy temple,
And praise Your name
For Your lovingkindness and Your truth;
For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
3. In the day when I cried out, You answered me,
And made me bold with strength in my soul.

You, Oh LORD are above all,
Because You Created Everything that Exists!
The things that are little "gods" to people,
Are merely dust in the scales of eternity.
But You...You Are The Eternal,
The Omniscient, The Omnipotent, The Omnipresent,
You Transcend love, because You ARE Love.
You Transcend truth because You ARE the Truth.
And in this Psalm,
You tell us that You Have Magnified YOUR WORD EVEN ABOVE Your Holy Name.
Your Word is Holy, Pure, and Undefiled.
And Your Word is Truth.

4. All the kings of the earth shall praise You, O LORD,
When they hear the words of Your mouth.
5. Yes, they shall sing of the ways of the LORD,
For great is the glory of the LORD.
6. Though the LORD is on high,
Yet He regards the lowly;
But the proud He knows from afar.

Thank You, Father, For Regarding the Lowly.
For Who are we, Compared With You?
yet You have not forgotten us.
And You Have not forgotten Your Promise to Your People.

7. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me;
You will stretch out Your hand
Against the wrath of my enemies,
And Your right hand will save me.
8. The LORD will perfect that which concerns me;
Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever;
Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our Beloved USA
We Ask That Your People Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

My sister recently had a new countertop installed. It was real butcherblock, of varied-colored hardwood, and, even though it was a small counter, quite expensive. A large rectangle had to be cut out to accommodate the double sink, and there was an odd 45 degree angle cut next to the stove, which resulted in a piece of wood shaped like a right-angle triangle. These pieces were too pretty to throw away, so the sink-shaped piece ended up in the shed and the triangle piece sat on the countertop as an oversized charcuterie tray. And so, these pieces of beautiful hardwood became big heavy things that were taking up space where space is the one thing we don't have in a Mobile Home. (NO basement, NO attic, NO spare closets).

Meanwhile, I was getting frustrated with my Bathroom Vanity. Plunked in the middle of a wall, it has limited space on either side. The sink extends all the way to the edge, and there is no place to put even a toothbrush. A wider vanity with a counter can't be substituted as it will interfere with the door, the heating register, and the electrical outlets. I began to eye the two pieces of butcher block and the wheels in my head began to turn. With very few modifications, those two pieces would fit nicely without obstructing the door, the heating duct, or the electricity, but HOW to do it? The work required a table saw which I don't have.

Meanwhile, a troublesome neighbor, who was always complaining about me and my dog, moved out. I was happy to see them move on, but was a bit apprehensive about who would be moving IN. Luckily, it was a very nice man who is a Marine Veteran, a Retired Corrections Officer, and a Trump Supporter (HUZZAH!). Soon he found that he moved into a sea of liberals, and so I always made it a point to greet him in my morning walk and chat with him, mostly to let him know that he was not alone.

And get this..he is a CARPENTER.

When I showed him my Vanity Project, he took over and did the installation, and it is perfect.

When I tried to pay him, he refused. He said, "You're the only one around here that I can talk to."

Sometimes the Ministry to which we are called can be a simple "Good Morning."

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America!

Psalm 110

Of David. A Psalm.

1 The Lord says to my lord,
‘Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies your footstool.’

2 The Lord sends out from Zion
your mighty sceptre.
Rule in the midst of your foes.
3 Your people will offer themselves willingly
on the day you lead your forces
on the holy mountains.*
From the womb of the morning,
like dew, your youth* will come to you.
4 The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind,
‘You are a priest for ever according to the order of Melchizedek.’*

5 The Lord is at your right hand;
he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath.
6 He will execute judgement among the nations,
filling them with corpses;
he will shatter heads
over the wide earth.
7 He will drink from the stream by the path;
therefore he will lift up his head.

Here is another story about being a good listener, from my Sister after reading my commentary on yesterday's Psalm 137 and the Reggae Song that went with it:

I was waiting for you to comment on this psalm. A week or so ago, one of our firemen, who is considered (but also considers himself) the "oddball" of the bunch, started talking to me about music, because he was going around the station whistling "The Col. Bogie March"...and how could I NOT comment? Yes, he knew the piece was used in the fabulous movie. Then he expounded on how much he loves all kinds of music. And then he mentioned "that African band...African American band...I love that song!" After a few minutes, he came up with the name Boney M and I looked it up and laughed! I love this song, I said. It's reggae and they're Jamaican. I just didn't know their name (and it was a successful remake for them). I said That's a psalm. Psalm means 'song'. You're Jewish and your name is David. Not sure if King David wrote this one, but King David wrote many a psalm, and you're named after him. King David is an antecedent of Jesus of Nazareth. ...Then ensued our oddball's heartfelt (although needlessly confusing) take on religion in general, and he cemented his reputation for Babble-ing on (ha ha, get it?) and I wished I hadn't recognised The Col. Bogie March because I had work to do. He thanked me for "always being so nice" and I just said, "There has been no reason not to be." I hope I helped him feel more "fit in".

I, too, value your "Good morning" wishes, over on my Bible-art threads. And I know our Lord values them, when you greet Him....

So, AMEN!
