Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 135

1  Praise the Lord.[a]
Praise the name of the Lord;
    praise him, you servants of the Lord,

2  you who minister in the house of the Lord,
    in the courts of the house of our God.

3  Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;
    sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant.

4  For the Lord has chosen Jacob to be his own,
    Israel to be his treasured possession.

5  I know that the Lord is great,
    that our Lord is greater than all gods.

6  The Lord does whatever pleases him,
    in the heavens and on the earth,
    in the seas and all their depths.

7  He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth;
    he sends lightning with the rain
    and brings out the wind from his storehouses.

8  He struck down the firstborn of Egypt,
    the firstborn of people and animals.

9  He sent his signs and wonders into your midst, Egypt,
    against Pharaoh and all his servants.

10  He struck down many nations
    and killed mighty kings—

11  Sihon king of the Amorites,
    Og king of Bashan,
    and all the kings of Canaan—

12  and he gave their land as an inheritance,
    an inheritance to his people Israel.

13  Your name, Lord, endures forever,
    your renown, Lord, through all generations.

14  For the Lord will vindicate his people
    and have compassion on his servants.

15  The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
    made by human hands.

16  They have mouths, but cannot speak,
    eyes, but cannot see.

17  They have ears, but cannot hear,
    nor is there breath in their mouths.

18  Those who make them will be like them,
    and so will all who trust in them.

19  All you Israelites, praise the Lord;
    house of Aaron, praise the Lord;

20  house of Levi, praise the Lord;
    you who fear him, praise the Lord.

21  Praise be to the Lord from Zion,
    to him who dwells in Jerusalem.
Praise the Lord.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God!
You Have Made The Heavens,
And The Earth By Your Great Power,
By Your Word and By Your Outstretched Arm,
And Your Have Given Us Your Breath of Life By Your Sovereign Will.
Nothing is Impossible For You,
Indeed, Nothing Surprises You,
For Your Are The Beginning and The End,
The Aleph~Tav,
The Alpha and the Omega.

1. Praise the LORD!

Praise the name of the LORD;
Praise Him, O you servants of the LORD!
2. You who stand in the house of the LORD,
In the courts of the house of our God,
3. Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good;
Sing praises to His name, for it is pleasant.
4. For the LORD has chosen Jacob for Himself,
Israel for His special treasure.

Oh How Lovely it is to Praise You, LORD!
How Pleasant it is to Stand in Your House and Worship You,
To Linger In Your Courts,
To Contemplate and Meditate on Your Glory!
You Are So Good,
And it is so LOVELY to Adore You,
It is Healing to Our Hearts and Medicine to Our Souls.
We Continue To Lift Up Prayers For Your Special Treasure, Jacob/Israel,
Because You have seen fit to Share Your Heart With us in Your Holy Word,
And This is Your Command!

5. For I know that the LORD is great,
And our Lord is above all gods.
6. Whatever the LORD pleases He does,
In heaven and in earth,
In the seas and in all deep places.
7. He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth;
He makes lightning for the rain;
He brings the wind out of His treasuries.

You Are Great,
And You Are Good.
It Is You Who Made Us, And not we ourselves!
You Are Our Shepherd,
And we are the sheep of Your pasture.
You Are Our King,
And we are Your servants.

8. He destroyed the firstborn of Egypt,
Both of man and beast.
9. He sent signs and wonders into the midst of you, O Egypt,
Upon Pharaoh and all his servants.
10. He defeated many nations
And slew mighty kings—
11. Sihon king of the Amorites,

We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will, Your Word, and Your Promise.
We Pray For The leaders our own Beloved USA,
That they will be led by Your Holy Spirit,
And will make godly and wise decisions for the people.

13. Your name, O LORD, endures forever,
Your fame, O LORD, throughout all generations.
14. For the LORD will judge His people,
And He will have compassion on His servants.

15. The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
The work of men’s hands.
16. They have mouths, but they do not speak;
Eyes they have, but they do not see;
17. They have ears, but they do not hear;
Nor is there any breath in their mouths.
18. Those who make them are like them;
So is everyone who trusts in them.

Keep us From Temptation, Oh LORD.
There are so many idols that can distract us,
Not only of silver and gold,
But of flesh and blood,
Philosophies and Theories,
Electronic Vanities that take our Eyes off You,
Politics and Sports,
Entertainment and Careers.
Even good and decent things can be idols if they
distract us from You.
lead Us Not Into temptation,
But Deliver Us From Evil.

19. Bless the LORD, O house of Israel!
Bless the LORD, O house of Aaron!
20. Bless the LORD, O house of Levi!
You who fear the LORD, bless the LORD!
21. Blessed be the LORD out of Zion,
Who dwells in Jerusalem!

Praise the LORD!

Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our Beloved USA
We Ask That Your People Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

I am reading a book right now about the first twenty years of the United States. The main characters in the book are George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Samuel Adams, Aaron Burr, James Madison, and Benjamin Franklin, whom we now call "The Founding Fathers". While at first these men were united in the American Revolution, subsequent events and opinions about Federalism, Republicanism, Foreign Alliances with Britain and France, scandals such as The XYZ Affair, and the economy, caused fractures in their friendship, including a fatal duel. It is an interesting rea, and makes me treasure our Constitutional Republic even more.Today's Psalm is an Historical Psalm. It reminds the People of Israel of their History, and of God's Provision throughout. Without Media or history books in common use, it was incumbant upon the Priests and Prophets of Israel to keep these things in remembrance.

By knowing what people sacrificed for our freedom, we are so blessed and need to be reminded sometimes.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
