Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 133

A song of ascents. Of David.

1  How good and pleasant it is
    when God’s people live together in unity!

2  It is like precious oil poured on the head,
    running down on the beard,
running down on Aaron’s beard,
    down on the collar of his robe. 3  It is as if the dew of Hermon
    were falling on Mount Zion.
For there the Lord bestows his blessing,
    even life forevermore.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

A Song of Ascents. Of David.

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent,
How Wonderful,
How Pure and Holy is Your Name Over All The Earth!
Ancient Of Days,
Rock of Ages,
King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
You Alone Are worthy of Worship,
For You Alone Are The One True God!

1. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity!

Blessings and Peace To All Who Praise Your Name!
How Good and How Pleasant It Is,
When Your Children Recognize Your Glory,
And Stand Together As One,
To Lift Up Your Name In Praise and Prayer!
We thank You With All Our Hearts!

2. It is like the precious oil upon the head,
Running down on the beard,
The beard of Aaron,
Running down on the edge of his garments.
3. It is like the dew of Hermon,
Descending upon the mountains of Zion;
For there the LORD commanded the blessing—
Life forevermore.

Together We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
That Your Will Bring Peace To That Troubled Land.
We Pray That You Will Give Wisdom and Discernment to The Leaders of Israel,
And To Our Own Nation.
Anoint Them with the Oil of Your Holy Spirit,
That They May See The World Situation with Your Eyes,
And Make Their Decisions in Accordance With Your Will.
May Peace descend Upon the Mountains Of Zion,
Like The Dew of Mt. Hermon,
As The LORD Commands the Blessing,
Life Forevermore.

Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our Beloved USA
We Ask That Your People Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The black-top pavement of my Grammar School Playground had white concentric circles painted on it. These were occasionally used for Dodgeball, but were more frequently used for Folk Dancing.

American Children were taught these dances was a mystery to me, as they all seemed to come from Warsaw-Pact Nations such as Poland, Romania, and Hungary. I thought that THOSE were the countries that wanted to BOMB US! Nevertheless, the teachers would haul out the big, ugly record player (NOT a Hi-Fi like Dad's!) and play clunky accordion music on fat old 78RPM Records.

For a musically educated child like myself, who listened to Beethoven and Berlioz on the latest audio equipment (Thanks, Dad!), these dances were unbearable. It was further exacerbated by the fact that I had two left feet.
An exception to the corny dance music were two lovely melodies, that, although still played on a 78RPM Record by squeezeboxes, actually sounded decent. I liked those two! They were Israeli Dances "Dodi Li" and "Hine Ma Tov". Who would have guessed that 30 years later, in studying the Hebrew Bible, that I would discover that "Dodi Li" is from The Song of Solomon, and "Hine Ma Tov" is from Today's Psalm.

No WONDER I liked them!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America!

PS...I really enjoy eastern European Folk Music (especially Gypsy Music) at this stage in my life, but I was a rather snobby kindergartner. LOL.

Psalm 58

To the leader: Do Not Destroy. Of David. A Miktam.

1 Do you indeed decree what is right, you gods?*
Do you judge people fairly?
2 No, in your hearts you devise wrongs;
your hands deal out violence on earth.

3 The wicked go astray from the womb;
they err from their birth, speaking lies.
4 They have venom like the venom of a serpent,
like the deaf adder that stops its ear,
5 so that it does not hear the voice of charmers
or of the cunning enchanter.

6 O God, break the teeth in their mouths;
tear out the fangs of the young lions, O Lord!
7 Let them vanish like water that runs away;
like grass let them be trodden down* and wither.
8 Let them be like the snail that dissolves into slime;
like the untimely birth that never sees the sun.
9 Sooner than your pots can feel the heat of thorns,
whether green or ablaze, may he sweep them away!

10 The righteous will rejoice when they see vengeance done;
they will bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked.
11 People will say, ‘Surely there is a reward for the righteous;
surely there is a God who judges on earth.’
