Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 127

A song of ascents. Of Solomon.

1  Unless the Lord builds the house,
    the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
    the guards stand watch in vain.

2  In vain you rise early
    and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
    for he grants sleep to[a] those he loves.

3  Children are a heritage from the Lord,
    offspring a reward from him.

4  Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
    are children born in one’s youth.

5  Blessed is the man
    whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
    when they contend with their opponents in court.

Footnotes

a Psalm 127:2 Or eat— / for while they sleep he provides for

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

A Song of Ascents. Of Solomon.

Almighty and Everlasting Father,
How Glorious and Wonderful is Your Most Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship and Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
Almighty and Eternal,
Glorious and Transcendent,
Rock of Ages,
Ancient of Days,
King of Kings,
and Lord of Lords!

1. Unless the LORD builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the LORD guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain.
2. It is vain for you to rise up early,
To sit up late,
To eat the bread of sorrows;
For so He gives His beloved sleep.

Without You, any attempt to build our house,
or our Nation,
is in vain.
For in You, Father, are Our Provision,
Our Security,
Our Prosperity,
and Our Future.
We are nothing without You.

3. Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
4. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
5. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

We Pray that the terrible practice of Abortion will be brought to an end.
We Pray that every Child that is conceived will be cherished and loved.
We Pray that no child shall be taught the ways of terrorism,
and that all will have a chance to learn the Truth.
This we pray, in Faith,
knowing that it is not Your Will that any should perish.

Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our Beloved USA
We Ask That Your People Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 35

Of David.

1 Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me;
fight against those who fight against me!
2 Take hold of shield and buckler,
and rise up to help me!
3 Draw the spear and javelin
against my pursuers;
say to my soul,
‘I am your salvation.’

4 Let them be put to shame and dishonour
who seek after my life.
Let them be turned back and confounded
who devise evil against me.
5 Let them be like chaff before the wind,
with the angel of the Lord driving them on.
6 Let their way be dark and slippery,
with the angel of the Lord pursuing them.

7 For without cause they hid their net* for me;
without cause they dug a pit* for my life.
8 Let ruin come on them unawares.
And let the net that they hid ensnare them;
let them fall in it—to their ruin.

9 Then my soul shall rejoice in the Lord,
exulting in his deliverance.
10 All my bones shall say,
‘O Lord, who is like you?
You deliver the weak
from those too strong for them,
the weak and needy from those who despoil them.’

11 Malicious witnesses rise up;
they ask me about things I do not know.
12 They repay me evil for good;
my soul is forlorn.
13 But as for me, when they were sick,
I wore sackcloth;
I afflicted myself with fasting.
I prayed with head bowed* on my bosom,
14 as though I grieved for a friend or a brother;
I went about as one who laments for a mother,
bowed down and in mourning.

15 But at my stumbling they gathered in glee,
they gathered together against me;
ruffians whom I did not know
tore at me without ceasing;
16 they impiously mocked more and more,*
gnashing at me with their teeth.

17 How long, O Lord, will you look on?
Rescue me from their ravages,
my life from the lions!
18 Then I will thank you in the great congregation;
in the mighty throng I will praise you.

19 Do not let my treacherous enemies rejoice over me,
or those who hate me without cause wink the eye.
20 For they do not speak peace,
but they conceive deceitful words
against those who are quiet in the land.
21 They open wide their mouths against me;
they say, ‘Aha, Aha,
our eyes have seen it.’

22 You have seen, O Lord; do not be silent!
O Lord, do not be far from me!
23 Wake up! Bestir yourself for my defence,
for my cause, my God and my Lord!
24 Vindicate me, O Lord, my God,
according to your righteousness,
and do not let them rejoice over me.
25 Do not let them say to themselves,
‘Aha, we have our heart’s desire.’
Do not let them say, ‘We have swallowed you* up.’

26 Let all those who rejoice at my calamity
be put to shame and confusion;
let those who exalt themselves against me
be clothed with shame and dishonour.

27 Let those who desire my vindication
shout for joy and be glad,
and say evermore,
‘Great is the Lord,
who delights in the welfare of his servant.’
28 Then my tongue shall tell of your righteousness
and of your praise all day long.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

In the late 60's, I read a book called The Population Bomb. It was full of dire predictions of famine, warfare, and widespread starvation that would be brought about by overpopulation. This influenced subsequent generations to forego having children, or severely limit the size of their families. However, this practice only seemed to be be prevalent in the more developed nations, leaving the Third World to continue the practice of having large families.

Famines did occur, but these were mostly brought about by politics rather than by overpopulation. World events have proven The Population Bomb to be naive, simplistic, and completely WRONG, yet the author still stands by his theories. What else can he do? He dedicated his whole life to this theory, and became famous because of it. He can't back down now!

We see the same dynamic at work today, as theories such as "Global Warming", "Climate Change", "Wokeism", and even the current hysteria over COVID go through the same iterations as Ehrlich's book, leaving broken families, destroyed economies, millions of babies killed by abortion, and devastated nations in their wake. These books and movements come and go, but the damage they produce continues.

God's Word has stood the Test of Time. While there have been those who have interpreted it poorly, and thus have brought about bad situations, The Word Itself is Pure and Undefiled.

Today's Psalm is in direct contradiction to The Population Bomb, and I will take it over Ehrlich's dated and discredited Best Seller any day of the week!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Amen, left that other site

It seems many leftist and woke ideas are too big to fail—especially when proven wrong.

Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.
