Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 124

A song of ascents. Of David.

1  If the Lord had not been on our side—
    let Israel say—

2  if the Lord had not been on our side
    when people attacked us,

3  they would have swallowed us alive
    when their anger flared against us;

4  the flood would have engulfed us,
    the torrent would have swept over us,

5  the raging waters
    would have swept us away.

6  Praise be to the Lord,
    who has not let us be torn by their teeth.

7  We have escaped like a bird
    from the fowler’s snare;
the snare has been broken,
    and we have escaped.

8  Our help is in the name of the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.

Our Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your Name!
You Alone Are Worthy Of Praise and Worship,
You Alone Are The One True God

You made the heavens.
You made the Earth.
You made the galaxies and the nebulae,
the black holes, the galactic clusters,
the quasars and the infinite reaches of the Universe!
Nothing is too difficult for You!
You are the Aleph~Tav,
The Alpha and The Omega,
The Beginning and the End!
The Eternal,
The Transcendent,
Wonderful,
Counselor,
Almighty God,
The Everlasting Father,
the Prince of Peace!
The Snare is Broken, and we have escaped.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Today would have been my 49th Wedding Anniversary. It is also Barack Obama's alleged birthday. My brother was really annoyed that for two years in a row, our traditional family July 4th BBQ/Pool Party has been curtailed by COVID, and yet BO is having 700 people for his alleged birthday celebration. I'm not as grumpy as my brother, but I'm a little miffed as well. Anyway, let's look at Today's Psalm. Like all of the Psalms od Ascents, this one speaks of God's RELATIONSHIP with Israel.

People who say they believe the Bible, yet do not stand with Israel, should probably take a second look at the Book.

I read a Commentary on this Psalm by a 16th Century Rabbi who mused that it indicated the 4 Captivities of the Jews, the most recent being the Diaspora.

This Particular Sage mused that there would be ONE MORE Giant captivity prior to the Coming of Messiah, and it would be perpetrated by the Sons of ISHMAEL. (We KNOW who THAT is!). Anyway, the writings of Medieval Rabbis are NOT Scripture, but It was just a VERY Interesting Interpretation of the Hebrew Words in this Particular Psalm that I came across in my studies, and I thought I would share it with you.
