Is the Third Temple imminent?

I have always been a strong supporter of Israel. This is not because I always agree with its secular leadership, which is often as corrupt as America's on seminal biblical issues like child-killing and sodomy, but because the Bible makes clear that Israel is an intact nation-state at the time of Christ's return. Jesus said in the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21) that we would know the season of His return by the revival of the fig tree – the primary biblical symbol of the House of Judah per Jeremiah 24 and many other passages. It is the House of Judah (defined by the practice of Judaism) which occupies that relatively small portion of the Holy Land God promised to Abraham, which is today called Israel. Eventually, the House of Israel (defined in the Age of the Gentiles by the practice of Christianity) will be restored there as well on an equal basis, according to a little-recognized but pervasive theme of Old Testament prophecy about the last days.

Between now and then, the Antichrist will emerge (2 Thessalonians 2), establish a short-lived kingdom-of-evil based in Israel (Revelation 11) and trigger the outpouring of God's wrath by setting up the "Abomination that Causes Desolation" in the "Holy Place" (Matthew 24:15). Most scholars identify the "Holy Place" as the long-anticipated Third Temple of Jerusalem. In my four trips to Israel, including a church tour I led in 2017, I have twice toured the Temple Institute, which is dedicated to ensuring the temple is built and has (to precise biblical standards) 1) prepared all of the implements that will be used there, 2) built the altar, and 3) trained Levite priests identified by genetic testing.

Sounds to me like the third temple has not only already been built, but that it’s still standing.

There is no purpose for another building.

I read a couple of years ago where a group in Israel already has the cornerstone ready and was stopped by the police as they approached the Temple Mount.

It does appear that a 3rd Jewish Temple is imminent. The Jews want to reinstate animal sacrifice which, to them, is the yearly propitiation for their sins. However this Temple will be cursed and will ultimately end up being defiled by the Antichrist. Why? The believing church (Jew and Gentile) is the Temple…

Jesus Christ became the final sacrifice for the Jews and the sins of the world when he allowed himself to die on the cross…

Hebrews 2:9 but we e see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Isaiah predicted this 3rd coming Temple will be cursed because it is a repudiation of what Jesus Christ accomplished for Jew and Gentile on the cross. It will remain cursed for over 3.5 years after built until Jesus Christ returns and establishes his eternal Kingdom…

Isaiah 66 Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? 2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. 3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. 4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

Of course what is not mentioned is the afront to Islam by building it over the dome on the rock, e.g., Solomon’s Temple.

I think the Obaminatiom that causes desolation will set foot in there after the 3.5 years.

No…it is based on Daniel 9, Daniel 11. When the Antichrist defiles the Temple (like Jesus Christ predicted in Matthew 24), there is 3.5 years on the Prophetic Clock. So the Temple will at least be around for 3.5. More likely 3.5 plus.

Aha.... Thanks. Yeah, I prematurely took from your first comment that you hadn’t heard of Jesus being the embodiment of the third temple.

For REAL counterculture old-school stuff, ask yourself why G-d includes all of those measurements and instructions in Ezekiel— for a doomed temple (G-d forbid)?
