Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 122

A song of ascents. Of David.

1  I rejoiced with those who said to me,
    “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”

2  Our feet are standing
    in your gates, Jerusalem.

3  Jerusalem is built like a city
    that is closely compacted together.

4  That is where the tribes go up—
    the tribes of the Lord—
to praise the name of the Lord
    according to the statute given to Israel.

5  There stand the thrones for judgment,
    the thrones of the house of David.

6  Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
    “May those who love you be secure.

7  May there be peace within your walls
    and security within your citadels.”

8  For the sake of my family and friends,
    I will say, “Peace be within you.”

9  For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
    I will seek your prosperity.

A Song of Ascents.

Our Father in Heaven,
Holy and Sanctified is Your Most Wonderful Name!
You Alone Are Worthy To Be Praised And Worshiped,
For You Alone Are The One True God.
Ancient of Days,
Rock of Ages,
Keeper of Israel, Who Never Slumbers Nor Sleeps, How Wonderful To See Your Promises Fulfilled
So Many Centuries After Being Articulated in Your Holy Word!
For You Are The God Who Keeps Your Promises.
You Are Faithful,
Even When We Are Not.
It is a Good Thing,
To Ascend This "Stairway To Heaven",
These Songs of Ascents,
These Psalms of Degrees,
These Ancient Hymns of Pilgrimage,
As We Approach You, Step by Step,
Entering Your Gates With Thanksgiving in Our Hearts,
And Into Your Courts With Praise.

1. I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go into the house of the LORD.”
2. Our feet have been standing
Within your gates, O Jerusalem!

Abba, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Word,
According To Your Will,
And According To Your Promise.
We Pray That Anything that defiles Your Holy Places will be Removed,
And that evil and violence , theft, and bloodshed will cease in Your Sanctuary.
For You Have Said:
"My House shall be called a House of Prayer for All People".
This is Your Word
and We Believe You and Stand With You.

3. Jerusalem is built
As a city that is compact together,
4. Where the tribes go up,
The tribes of the LORD,
To the Testimony of Israel,
To give thanks to the name of the LORD.
5. For thrones are set there for judgment,
The thrones of the house of David.

Dear Father, Your Word Repeats Your Love For Jerusalem SO MANY times in Your Holy Word!
How Can Anyone Doubt Your Commitment to Her?
How Can Anyone Doubt Your Designation of Jerusalem As Your Holy City, For The Jewish People?
Over and Over Your Prophets and Kings Testify to that Fact!
We Pray That the blinders on the World Media and Political Leaders will fall off,
That they will be enlightened by Your Word, and will seek Justice for Your People.
We Stand against the Lies, Slander, and Calumny wrought by the enemy, in order to divide Your Holy City!

6. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.
7. Peace be within your walls,
Prosperity within your palaces.”
8. For the sake of my brethren and companions,
I will now say, “Peace be within you.”
9. Because of the house of the LORD our God
I will seek your good.

Almighty Father, we Pray for Our Own Nation's Relationship with Israel.
Please do not let the Present Administration destroy our Friendship with This Important Ally in the Middle East.
Restore Our Honor and Integrity, Oh LORD,
That we May Once Again Hold Our Head Up Among The Nations.

Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our Beloved USA
We Ask That Your People Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

This is the Psalm that inspired this Thread, over ten years ago. However, Praying for The Peace of Jerusalem has been on my heart a lot longer than that. Perhaps it was my trip to Israel in 1984, or some radio program I heard in the early days of my Christian Walk, but the desire has been with me for nearly 40 years. One of the many reasons I love President Trump is that he moved the US Embassy to Jerusalem. I had been praying for that for over 34 years, but no other President in my lifetime was able to do this. I pray for that man every day, as I pray for my own beloved United States of America.

People have come on this thread and debated the wisdom of praying for the Peace of Jerusalem. Some have argued that I should be praying for America (I DO! Every Day!), or that ONLY the Messiah can bring Peace. (I know that). But this Psalm says what it says, and I believe the Word of God. It's like a fire in my bones! And so I delete the argumentative comments and move forward. Thank you all for joining me every day, and may God Bless You.

Many, like you, have been praying for President Trump and Jerusalem. In light of all the shenanigans in 2020—especially the voting fraud to propel evil men and women into power—I wonder what on earth is going on? Though our gracious God has His plans that will not be thwarted.

May what men and women mean for evil God has turn to good.
