Ex-Cardinal Theodore McCarrick charged with molesting teen boy in 1974

Ex-Cardinal Theodore McCarrick — the former archbishop of Washington, DC, who was kicked out of the priesthood over sex abuse allegations — has been charged with molesting a teenage boy in Massachusetts in the 1970s.

The charges filed Wednesday make McCarrick, 91, the highest-ranking Roman Catholic official in the US to face criminal raps in the clergy sex abuse scandal, according to the Boston Globe.

The predatory priest is accused of groping a 16-year-old boy’s genitals on June 8, 1974, during the wedding reception of the teen’s brother at Wellesley College.

McCarrick allegedly told the boy that he “needed to go to confession” and led him into a room, where he proceeded to assault him while “saying prayers to make me feel holy,” the teen told police.

The investigation into McCarrick began in January after the alleged victim’s attorney, Mitchell Garabedian, wrote letters to the Norfolk and Middlesex district attorneys.

More exposure to world religions will put your religion in focus. You will realize it is all just make believe.

Also, my point stands that Jesus (Greek translation of Yeshua) was a proto-communist. So much so that communism is really Christianity without the belief in God.

In catholic society, it used to be that one either gets married or they join the clergy. So alot of homosexuals would hide by joining the clergy, thus the abuse as being clergy puts them in authority over vulnerable people.

Jesus was a proto-communist.

BTW, alot of the religious people here don’t even know the real name of Jesus. It is a translation of the Hebrew name Yeshua.

BTW, alot of the religious people here don’t even know the real name of Jesus. It is a translation of the Hebrew name Yeshua. I estimate that close to 100% of the "religious people" here knew that. But even if you were correct, so what? Almost every name in western civilization derives from Latin, Greek, or Hebrew.

“However, those that leave will face the loss of their salvation.

I cannot find the words to tell you the deception, ignorance, superstition, or pure vileness of your post.

You can’t. That’s where innuendo, deception, obfuscation, emotion and vengeance come in. And attorneys of course.

So either: A. John Paul was incredibly - and dangerously - naive. B. John Paul knew, but didn’t care.

McCarrick spent a lot of time in the Vatican during those years and brought his favorite altar boys with him from his diocese. Certainly some in the vatican knew.

So you believe the victim is lying and McCarrick never abused anyone?

How many people do you think knew that McCarrick was at a wedding reception on June 8, 1974, during a wedding reception at Wellesley College?

It’s laughable you could possibly give that interpretation. Keep shooting, maybe you’ll hit something.

You'd be good a defense attorney for murderers and rapists, when there's no forensic evidence.

For the record when the Vatican was considering giving him the red hat Cardinal John O’Connor told them not to do it.
