Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz signs a ban on so-called conversion therapy during a ceremony at the State Capitol in St. Paul, Minn., on Thursday, July 15, 2021.
Walz said conversion therapy, the scientifically discredited practice of using therapy to "convert" LGBTQ people to heterosexuality or traditional gender expectations, is a "byzantine, tortuous practice." He said his order empowers state agencies to ensure that no Minnesotans under age 18 are subjected to it, and that insurance companies and state health plans don't cover it.
“There’s no place for hate in this state, there’s no room for division,” Walz said at a signing ceremony just ahead of Pride Weekend. “Our LGBTQ+ community is part, and a huge part, of what it means to be one Minnesota. When they are hurt or put through this, we all hurt. And when they succeed, we all succeed.”

That’s tremendous. This governor is a psychiatrist now. When pederasts seduce and prey upon pubescent boys, they leave the kids scarred and confused about who they really are. Can’t let their families get them help so they can live normal lives. Leave them in their rut so they can tell us later that they were “born this way.”
Remember the show “Father knows best?” Well I guess now the state knows best.
Does it prevent escorting the individual to a more friendly state (like Utah)?
If little Johnny is buggering the family dog, will the governor let doctors help him deal with that problem?

Lib hypocrisy on sexual issues is beyond ludicrous.
I smell a lawsuit. The state cannot regulate the content of a conversation between a patient and therapist about treatment options.
You are what the state says you are. You have no say in it.
So can he oppose sexual abuse that causes conversion to homosexuality?
If he opposes gay to straight, then he should oppose any pressure put to bear on some poor kid to go from straight to gay.
Puberty blockers are fine, though.
