Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 119

121  I have done what is righteous and just;
    do not leave me to my oppressors.

122  Ensure your servant’s well-being;
    do not let the arrogant oppress me.

123  My eyes fail, looking for your salvation,
    looking for your righteous promise.

124  Deal with your servant according to your love

Anyone Imagine the Glories You have stored up in
Eternity, For Those who love You!
Every Day, Oh LORD, We seek You, and

Eyes Upon You, Our Heavenly Father, as You give Your Manna Daily.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

My Go-To place for tires in South Florida was a family-owned business on Sample Road in Coconut Creek. The owner was a Christian, and adorned the waiting room with religious pictures. One of them showed the scales of justice with the motto: "PROVERBS 11:1". Well, of course, I whipped out my pocket-sized King Jimmy (who doesn't have one of those?) and looked it up.

" A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight."

I laughed out loud. Is there anything worse than driving around on tires that have NOT been balanced properly?

In Western Culture, Justice is symbolized by a blindfolded lady holding scales. This is the "Balance" referred to in Proverbs 11:1. A merchant who "puts his finger on the scale" is a cheater. Cheating is a form of theft, and theft is a sin so grave that it is prohibited in one of the Ten Commandments. In the Hebrew Alphabet, Ayin is the Symbol for Justice. Contrary to the image of a blind lady, Ayin looks like an anatomical picture of two eyes, connected by the optic nerve and going into the brain. Justice requires Wisdom, and Wisdom requires a clear view.

It is time for you to act, LORD;
your law is being broken.

Every line of Today's Psalm Stanza begins With the Hebrew letter "Ayin". Although it is considered a Consonant in the Hebrew Alphabet, it is SILENT, and closer to a Vowel Sound in the Throat. It's Original Pictograph was an EYE, and if You Look Carefully at the Letter itself, You can see it is almost an Anatomical Picture of TWO EYES Connected to One Optic Nerve and Going To The Brain. It is a Compound Letter, Made up of a Zayin and a Yod, and Therefore has the Numerical Value of 70, another Important Biblical Number.

Our Eyes are the Windows to Our Soul. With Our Eyes We can Take In Either Good Or Evil. The Eye is the Light of the Body.(MT6-22,23)

It is Significant that Ayin Represents the EYE, and Yet is Silent. It SEES, but Does Not Speak. There is a Reason Our All-Wise Creator Gave Us TWO EYES and Only ONE MOUTH!

The Number 70 Comes up in Both the Bible and Israel's History:

70 Descendants of Noah
70 Souls Went To Egypt
70 Elders of Israel Went to Mt Sinai To Wait For Moses
70 Years of Exile in Babylon
70 Members of the Sanhedrin
70 Sages Translated the Septuagint (Greek Old Testament)
70 NAMES of G-d (Mysticism)

One time, a couple of us Christians had an opportunity to pray with someone who we soon learned was ill-informed: He prayed, "God, give me your justice." Yikes!

No Amen to that, but a resounding AMEN! to your fine prayer.
