A married Texas pastor who claims he was only counseling a 15-year-old girl and her family is now in jail after police say he groomed her, gave her methamphetamines and then raped her multiple times in the last month, including at church. The teenager was hospitalized after her most recent encounter.

Brian Pounds, 45, who was listed as the lead pastor at First Assembly of God in Vernon along with his wife, Amy, has been charged with sexual assault of a child and delivery of a controlled substance to a child, according to his redacted arrest warrant.

There is an epidemic of sexual corruption in the church. Never allow your children to be alone with a priest or pastor. Many of these people are highly skilled con artists, so don't think you can't be fooled. Put your trust in Christ, not in any human.

I will never understand something like this. If you, at least, halfway believe what the Gospel teaches, why would you harm somebody in this way?

You’re going to be held accountable for the harm that you did.
May he spend many years in prison with his back to the wall.

My family no longer has anything to do with church buildings or the people in them. We celebrate the Lord in a family home setting.

I am not sure. Objective results are hard to get.
What I know is that any case like this gets a lot of media exposure.
Mostly, because media are trying to put the Church down, so they got the idea to portray it as a bunch of sexual deviant.

I told my pastor I did not think I could stand up to the temptations he was offered.

There are millions of churches in the USA, but it only takes a handful (or just one) of people like this to drag the name of Christ through the mud and bring disrepute to Christ and to Christianity.

If this man is actually saved, he will weep bitter tears before God when he has the TRUTH of his sin forcefully recounted before Jesus.

I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever. Thomas Jefferson

As much as you like or dislike Pence, he was correct when he said he followed the Graham rule, never be alone with a member of the opposite sex.

Anytime you have young people gather for any reason, boy scouts, girl scouts, church groups, priesthood, soon you will have the perverts and predators circling trying to find ways to get to them.
Often they find the best way is to join the group, work themselves into a position of authority, and then it begins. When this happens they blame the group.

It does not help when the government forces these groups to accept the perverts.

Any religious who offers “counseling” is automatically a fraud. The great saints did not offer “counseling” they offered the word and laws of God.

Much of “psychology” we see around today has departed from science, and become a post-modern cult religion. America’s leftists who want to defund police are instead demanding government “counselors” and psychologists be sent to deal with society’s dyfunctions.
