Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 119

89  Your word, Lord, is eternal;
    it stands firm in the heavens.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

As a music teacher for over thirty years, I have taught hundreds of students. Some were not exactly happy to be taking lessons, but were stuck with them because of a magnificent $17,000 Grand Piano that graced the Living Room. I did my best with these children to make the lessons as fun and creative as possible, while still teaching the rudiments of music. It was not easy.

There were others who just wanted to go "By-The-Book", and they were mostly successful in playing what was put in front of them, but would never venture out into experimenting with chords and melodies. I have an adult student right now who had 12 years of that kind of training, but wants to know how to play intuitively.

Then there were the rarest students of all. These were the Prodigies. They aced the books immidiately, and then wanted to create their own music. After learning theory and the rules of harmony, they were creating stuff that made me feel inadequate. I knew I still had plenty more to teach, in terms of expression and artistry, but it was difficult when the student surpassed the teacher, and it was time to send him off to the Conservatory or a Master Class. Sometimes there were tears from both the student and the teacher when this stage was achieved. I hated losing the student, but it was the responsible thing to do.

"Lamed" Is a "Cattle Prod" or a "Goad". It Represents Teaching, Goading, Pushing, Reminding, Inciting to Do Good.

The word "Limud" means "Student" or Learner.
The Word "Lamad" means "Teacher".
The Words "lekh and Lekha" mean "Get Thee Out" as in Genesis 12 when Avram when called out of Ur.

"Lo" means "NO!" in Hebrew to this Day.

It also means "Thou Shalt Not" and starts each of the Last Five of the Ten Commandments. Look at a Set of Tablets that are in Hebrew, and you can see it, especially in the last six.

It is the 12th Letter.
12 Tribes of Israel.
12 Months in the Solar Year.
12 Notes in the Chromatic Scale
12 Original Apostles
