Is Genesis History?

This video segment is from "Beyond Is Genesis History? Vol 1 : Rocks & Fossils," the follow-up to our feature-length film where we explore the impact of the global Flood on the Earth. Check it out on our website:

http://bit.ly/BIGH-1.

Geologist Steve Austin takes us to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, where he explains how the global Flood of Noah's day is evidenced by an intercontinental erosion surface called the Great Unconformity and the thick layers of sand, shale, and limestone (called the Sauk Sequence) making up the canyon walls.

Dr. Austin is a field research geologist who has done research on six of the seven continents of the world. His research has taken him by helicopter into the crater on Mount St. Helens, by bush plane onto glaciers in Alaska, by raft through the Grand Canyon, on horseback into the high Sierra, by elevator into the world’s deepest coal mines, by SCUBA onto the Great Barrier Reef, by rail into Korean backcountry, by foot onto barren plateaus of southern Argentina, and by four-wheel drive into remote desert areas of Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

The Sauk sequence is Cambrian/Ordovician in age, so over 450 Million year old, a bit before Moses’ time.

Glacial lake and other outburst floods have been recorded around the world. One of them has been hypothesized as the origin of the Black Sea. Early observers would be forgiven for attributing such sudden and overwhelming events to divine wrath.

This guy is also a former astronaut, had his own TV show, and is often referred to simply as the Six Million Dollar Man.

During the great flood identified in Jewish and Christian mythology, happened sometime near the middle of the 24th century BC, and the entire planet was flooded by some 8,848 m (29,029 ft) of water, tripling the total volume of water on planet Earth, covering the tops of the mountains, and wiping out the entire human and land animal populations.

Scientists estimate the canyon formed, from the evidence they have, around 5 to 6 million years ago when the Colorado River began to cut a channel through layers of rock. Humans have inhabited the area in and around the canyon since the last Ice Age.

Time frame may be wrong for the proposed evidence if you believe both.

Nice post and video.

You do not deserve the childish ridicule that shows up on here. And if they want to believe in uniformitarian gradualism, let them be primitive about it. The majority of pros in this discipline are moving more and more toward catastrophism. That’s where all the evidence (and logic) is to be found.

Don’t be surprised or concerned about the evolutionist fundamentalists who attack you. They will defend their failed devotion to Father Charlie. They hate science especially when it shakes the foundations of their myth based religion.

And yet God will have mercy on them, if they return to Him.

I hope all you creationists are including your beliefs on your resumes and collage applications. That really helps my Darwinist kids get better jobs and scholarships.
