They’ll be the next churches burned.
Headline doesn’t match the story.
This is a courageous move to take, in today’s politically correct culture.
I’ve always found the concept of “a governing body of the Presbyterian Church” to be amusing. The eggheads in Louisville were the ones who took down PCUSA.
The fact there were 400 votes against this concerns me that the PCA is gradually becoming the PCUSA.
They have to take a vote?............................
There are many sexually immoral things that would be pleasurable to the flesh that must be denied in your walk with Christ.
The push to accept the homosexual/bisexual vice within the church is confounding. While one might find homosexual sin personally disgusting, it’s no different than adultery, open marriages, sex outside of wedlock, etc.
If you don’t want to be a Christian and you want to do any of the things listed (or not listed) above, that’s on you. You can’t change God or His word to accept your sin.
Denying oneself, taking up the cross, and following Jesus means just that.
I’m not perfect by any means. But I try to change myself rather than what God said. I fear the Lord too much to mock His word, even if I fail to live up to it.
Unrepentant sinners must be removed from the congregation.
This is a good move.
Why don’t they just throw out the rest of the Bible?
“Officers in the Presbyterian Church in America must be above reproach in their walk and Christlike in their character. Those who profess an identity (such as, but not limited to, ‘gay Christian,’ ‘same-sex attracted Christian,’ ‘homosexual Christian,’ or like terms) that undermines or contradicts their identity as new creations in Christ, either by denying the sinfulness of fallen desires (such as, but not limited to, same-sex attraction), or by denying the reality and hope of progressive sanctification, or by failing to pursue Spirit-empowered victory over their sinful temptations, inclinations, and actions are not qualified for ordained office,” the amended rule states.
Well, just dayum! I’m flabbergasted but impressed that PCA is pushing back. May God protect them.
