Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 109
Psalm 109
For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.
1 My God, whom I praise,
do not remain silent,
2 for people who are wicked and deceitful
have opened their mouths against me;
they have spoken against me with lying tongues.
3 With words of hatred they surround me;
they attack me without cause.
4 In return for my friendship they accuse me,
but I am a man of prayer.
5 They repay me evil for good,
and hatred for my friendship.
6 Appoint someone evil to oppose my enemy;
let an accuser stand at his right hand.
7 When he is tried, let him be found guilty,
and may his prayers condemn him.
8 May his days be few;
may another take his place of leadership.
9 May his children be fatherless
and his wife a widow.
10 May his children be wandering beggars;
may they be driven[a] from their ruined homes.
11 May a creditor seize all he has;
may strangers plunder the fruits of his labor.
12 May no one extend kindness to him
or take pity on his fatherless children.
13 May his descendants be cut off,
their names blotted out from the next generation.
14 May the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the Lord;
may the sin of his mother never be blotted out.
15 May their sins always remain before the Lord,
that he may blot out their name from the earth.
16 For he never thought of doing a kindness,
but hounded to death the poor
and the needy and the brokenhearted.
17 He loved to pronounce a curse—
may it come back on him.
He found no pleasure in blessing—
may it be far from him.
18 He wore cursing as his garment;
it entered into his body like water,
into his bones like oil.
19 May it be like a cloak wrapped about him,
like a belt tied forever around him.
20 May this be the Lord’s payment to my accusers,
to those who speak evil of me.
21 But you, Sovereign Lord,
help me for your name’s sake;
out of the goodness of your love, deliver me.
22 For I am poor and needy,
and my heart is wounded within me.
23 I fade away like an evening shadow;
I am shaken off like a locust.
24 My knees give way from fasting;
my body is thin and gaunt.
25 I am an object of scorn to my accusers;
when they see me, they shake their heads.
26 Help me, Lord my God;
save me according to your unfailing love.
27 Let them know that it is your hand,
that you, Lord, have done it.
28 While they curse, may you bless;
may those who attack me be put to shame,
but may your servant rejoice.
29 May my accusers be clothed with disgrace
and wrapped in shame as in a cloak.
30 With my mouth I will greatly extol the Lord;
in the great throng of worshipers I will praise him.
31 For he stands at the right hand of the needy,
to save their lives from those who would condemn them.

You Alone Are Holy,
You Alone Are Righteous and Just,
And You Alone Are The One True God of The Universe!
How Wonderful Are Your Precepts,
How Precious Is Your WORD!
How Eternal and Sure Are Your Promises!
Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.
LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.
We Pray For Our Beloved USA

Thank You for posting this; it’s crucial that we obey God.
If we’re honest, we understand that the ‘new America’ has resulted from our rejecting God in our lives, and from our national life.
Only true repentance will save our republic.
Enjoyed your song in your bio =:^)

Psalm 135
1 Praise the Lord!
Praise the name of the Lord;
give praise, O servants of the Lord,
2 you that stand in the house of the Lord,
in the courts of the house of our God.
3 Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;
sing to his name, for he is gracious.
4 For the Lord has chosen Jacob for himself,
Israel as his own possession.
5 For I know that the Lord is great;
our Lord is above all gods.
6 Whatever the Lord pleases he does,
in heaven and on earth,
in the seas and all deeps.
7 He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth;
he makes lightnings for the rain
and brings out the wind from his storehouses.
8 He it was who struck down the firstborn of Egypt,
both human beings and animals;
9 he sent signs and wonders
into your midst, O Egypt,
against Pharaoh and all his servants.
10 He struck down many nations
and killed mighty kings—
11 Sihon, king of the Amorites,
and Og, king of Bashan,
and all the kingdoms of Canaan—
12 and gave their land as a heritage,
a heritage to his people Israel.
13 Your name, O Lord, endures for ever,
your renown, O Lord, throughout all ages.
14 For the Lord will vindicate his people,
and have compassion on his servants.
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.
16 They have mouths, but they do not speak;
they have eyes, but they do not see;
17 they have ears, but they do not hear,
and there is no breath in their mouths.
18 Those who make them
and all who trust them
shall become like them.
19 O house of Israel, bless the Lord!
O house of Aaron, bless the Lord!
20 O house of Levi, bless the Lord!
You that fear the Lord, bless the Lord!
21 Blessed be the Lord from Zion,
he who resides in Jerusalem.
Praise the Lord!

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

A Modern-Day Parable
A small family business in S. Florida developed a wonderful product that protected computers from viruses and hackers. It became a regional favorite, and bore the same alpha-numeric designation as my beloved electric guitar (an SG). Hubby Mike and I thought that was a delightful coincidence, as he had became an expert in the particular product, and was the "Go-To-Guy" for co-workers and customers alike.
Now, a world-famous developer of a similar product became incensed that the little Florida Company had even a tiny portion of the market, so he bought the company and proceeded to "kill" the SG. But the little component was better than its giant competitor, and the loyal customers continued to hang onto it. And why not? The SG used less memory, protected better, and was less expensive than the more famous product. The owner of the famous product should not have been concerned, as he had the lion's share of the market, and was busy globetrotting and getting into legal trouble in Central America (accused of murder!) and making more money than he knew what to do with. But, he hated that little SG and was determined to destroy it and all who loved it as well.
First, he forced the entire company to move to another town. The employees bit the bullet and moved the enormous operation, all its servers, inventory, etc, to another industrial park less than ten miles away in the totally unnecessary move. Then he forced all the software and customer servive people to train their replacements in India before firing them. A manager who liked Mike created a position for him so that he could stay on, shoved a desk under a flight of stairs, and had him answer calls from India from Service Reps who didn't understand the product. The SG lived on, as customers called Support, got someone in India, demanded to speak to "Mr. Mike", and got re-routed to the desk under the stairs in S. Florida. This infuriated the Big Guy, who was acting like a certain Captain of the Pequod when it came to the SG. (In fact, we can call him McAhab" to disguise his true identity) Finally, McAhab closed down completely the Florida operation, putting 40+ middfle-aged software geniuses out of work. None of them were able to find jobs right away because they were all used to making a good salary and younger college grads were coming in at much lower rates. The folks in India couldn't service the SG, and it died. After a year of seeking employment and being turned down everywhere, Mike sunk into a deep depression, and took his own life. All of his colleagues came to his funeral and all of them blamed McAhab for Mike's death. True Story.
In the intervening years I have heard rumors of McAhab, fleeing indictment for murder in Belize, hiding out in Miami, etc etc, and just this week, I heard that he allegedly took his own life in a prison cell. I do not feel any satisfaction or joy about that. I never wished for revenge, only a little peace and justice.
When a certain pResident controlled America from 2009-2016, there was a popular bumper sticker that quoted Psalm 109.
8 May his days be few;
may another take his place of leadership.
Some have said that the bumper sticker was "vindictive" and not worthy of a Christian. However, God is infinitely Just and Righteous, and will not allow iniquity to continue forever. To ask God for Justice is not vindictive. God reserves the right to exact vengeance, and we are not allowed to take it into our own hands. Sometimes it takes longer than we would like, but God's timing is always perfect.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America!

I am so glad you enjoyed my song!
I sang an original in Church Sunday, based on Romans 8:31, and the Congregation seemed to really like it. It has been years since I have sung one of my songs in church, and I was so blessed to be able to do this:
Here are the lyrics:
*Nothing Can Separate Us c2014
(Romans 8:31)
Shall Tribulation, Or Distress,
Shall Persecution, Or Nakedness,
Hardship, Famine, or the Sword,
What can keep us from Our LORD?
Nothing Can Separate Us
From the Love of God.
No Angels nor Demons, Nor Life, Nor Death,
No Present nor Future, Nor Height nor Depth.
Though they slay us all day long
In Christ Jesus, We are Strong.
Nothing Can Separate Us
From the Love of God.
Who can accuse us?
Who can condemn?
We’re in Christ Jesus,
Secure in Him.
Hardships come and troubles go,
Still we know He loves us so!
Nothing Can Separate Us
From the Love of God.
Nothing Can Separate Us
From the Love of God.
Nothing Can Separate Us
From the Love of God.

all the others whose life “McAhab” ruined.
When I read the news last week about McAhab's death, it brought everything back. I am glad today's Psalm came up because it gave me an opportunity to use a tragedy to teach a Biblical Principle.
As for all the people whose lives wer ruined, there were 40 in the Florida Office alone. That was just one office.
The crew of the Pequod in Moby Dick numbered only 30 men. So McAhab has the legendary Captain Ahab beat by a mile.

Wow! What a story! Put some light on recent events.
I have experienced lay offs—replaced by cheaper workers and it took a while to find a good job, again. I understand Mike’s depression.
Last time I was laid off, I retired, early. Was able to do so. Now pursuing my passion of writing—what I really wanted to do—but it makes little money.
Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.
