Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 98

Psalm 98

A psalm.

1  Sing to the Lord a new song,
    for he has done marvelous things;
his right hand and his holy arm
    have worked salvation for him.

2  The Lord has made his salvation known
    and revealed his righteousness to the nations.

3  He has remembered his love
    and his faithfulness to Israel;
all the ends of the earth have seen
    the salvation of our God.

4  Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
    burst into jubilant song with music;

5  make music to the Lord with the harp,
    with the harp and the sound of singing,

6  with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—
    shout for joy before the Lord, the King.

7  Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
    the world, and all who live in it.

8  Let the rivers clap their hands,
    let the mountains sing together for joy;

9  let them sing before the Lord,
    for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
    and the peoples with equity.

Our Father in Heaven
Blessed Are You,
Oh LORD, Our God,
King of the Universe,
Ancient of Days,
El Shaddai,
The All-Sufficient One!

Oh, Holy, Holy, Holy are You,
LORD, God of Power and Might!
May You Always be The Provider
and Banner For Your People.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Yesterday there was a thread about a new discovery in the Heavens. It seems that Astronomers have detected "filaments" in space that are so HUGE that Galactic Clusters are strung along them like a Cosmic Necklace. The length of these filaments are billions of Light Years long. Ever the Wise Guy, yours truly posted that "The Universe keeps getting Messier." (Astronomer Joke!) We keep thinking that we have discovered all there is to find, and then something else comes up. There is no such thing as "Settled Science", because new things are always being discovered. As scientists uncover more and more of Creation, they are astounded by its exquisite order. In fact, as more and more things are revealed, we see the universe get "Neater" rather than "Messier".

Today's Psalm is a Song of Praise. One can never praise God enough! While there is, of course, a time when we can bring our complaints to God, the fact remains that WHILE we are Praising Him, we are NOT complaining. Let our thoughts and needs come before God and then leave them there at His Feet and begin to Praise Him. I have asked myself, "How can I do this when my heart is breaking?" That is a legitimate question, and I am sure that I am not the only person in history that has asked it. However, it has been a running theme in this Thread that the Heavens and Nature Declare God's Glory. It is impossible to look at the DNA Molecule or an Intergalactic Filament and NOT be struck with a sense of Awe and Wonder. Right down to the Quantum Level, God's Glory shines through in His Creation. As the Songwriter says: When I, in Awesome Wonder, consider all the Worlds Thy Hand hath made"!

PRAISE THE LORD!

Often, when praying for others, I put them into God's lap, as that is by far the best place for them. Indeed, that is my prayer today for Jerusalem, etc. Amen!
