Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 93
Psalm 93
1 The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty;
the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength;
indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.
2 Your throne was established long ago;
you are from all eternity.
3 The seas have lifted up, Lord,
the seas have lifted up their voice;
the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.
4 Mightier than the thunder of the great waters,
mightier than the breakers of the sea—
the Lord on high is mighty.
5 Your statutes, Lord, stand firm;
holiness adorns your house
for endless days.

All Our Wonders!
Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Well, it's Saturday night, and I am getting better at this...the Thread posted on my first attempt this time! Hallelujah! This evening, my sister and I had a nice conversation about "Letting Go". As you know, I can no longer access my OWN music on my new computer. It is still buried in the old one, but necessitates setting the whole computer up just to listen to it, much less burn a cd from it. Oh well, I have the cd's in my car and can listen when I drive. My sister, on the other hand, had YEARS worth of her personal photographs on Facebook. Then she decided to quit FB because of its political leanings. (Sis is one of US). The task involved in transferring ALL of those photos to another site was monumental, and she just didn't have the time. So she, like I with my music, had to just "let it go.". It's one thing to let go of THINGS. It is quite another to let go of one's art. There is an emotional attachment that comes with creativity, and an artist usually wants their art to ENDURE. The lesson we all have to learn is that nothing lasts forever.
I recently saw a wonderful documentary about Vivaldi. It was hosted by master-musician Rick Wakeman (of "YES" fame), who thinks Vivaldi was the Greatest of them all. Vivaldi was quite a Rock Star in his day (17th century), but after he died, his music fell from favor and he became an unknown until the mid-Twentieth Century. Now he is all the rage again. Johanne Sebastian Bach was a Church Musician who wrote for his parish. His music fell from favor during the Romantic period and beyond, until "Switched On Bach" brought him back into the public eye with his marvelous music being played on the Moog Synthesizer (which NOBOBY uses anymore). And so, like the visual arts, music waxes and wanes in popularity as styles come and go.
Isaiah, in his thundering 40th Chapter says that all "flesh is like grass...the grass withers and the flower fades, but the Word of God abides forever." It is sometimes a hard lesson, but it is TRUE.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
