Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 92

Psalm 92[a]

A psalm. A song. For the Sabbath day.

1  It is good to praise the Lord
    and make music to your name, O Most High,

2  proclaiming your love in the morning
    and your faithfulness at night,

3  to the music of the ten-stringed lyre
    and the melody of the harp.

4  For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
    I sing for joy at what your hands have done.

5  How great are your works, Lord,
    how profound your thoughts!

6  Senseless people do not know,
    fools do not understand,

7  that though the wicked spring up like grass
    and all evildoers flourish,
    they will be destroyed forever.

8  But you, Lord, are forever exalted.
9  For surely your enemies, Lord,
    surely your enemies will perish;
    all evildoers will be scattered.

10  You have exalted my horn[b] like that of a wild ox;
    fine oils have been poured on me.

11  My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries;
    my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes.

12  The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
    they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;

13  planted in the house of the Lord,
    they will flourish in the courts of our God.

14  They will still bear fruit in old age,
    they will stay fresh and green,

15  proclaiming, “The Lord is upright;
    he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”

Our Father in Heaven,
Magnified and Sanctified is Your Most Holy Name!
We Come Into Your Presence
With Worship and Praise and Singing,
For You Alone Are Worthy;
You Alone Are LORD;
You Alone Are The Most High;
You Alone Are The One True God.

Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our Beloved USA
We Ask That Your People Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Today was another odyssey to getting the Thread posted. I figured out a couple of "Work-Arounds", but it adds extra steps, and takes longer to post. I guess this is akin to what Jesus said about putting "Old Wine into New Wineskins."

Today's Psalm is Psalm 92 and it was written as a song for the Sabbath. I didn't plan on it coming up on a Saturday, but it did. It is a good time to reflect upon the ORIGINAL meaning of The Sabbath. It is meant to be a Day of Rest, alluding to the Seventh Day of Creation. God did not "rest" because He was tired. It was instead, a day to look upon His Work and enjoy His Creation.

And what a Joy that must have been! Imagine looking upon the vast reaches of the Universe, filled with Galaxies, Event Horizons, Quasars and Pulsars, Matter and Antimatter, Singularities, Black Holes, Planetary Systems, Nebulae, Gas Clouds, all of them Light Years apart. And then, imagine Him in a little garden with four rivers, located on the third planet in a System around a rather insignificant star, located on the outer arm of a rather ordinary Galaxy (as Galaxies go!), walking in the cool of the day with the latest of His Creation.

And that's where OUR story began. The History of humanity is such a tiny spec in the History of God's Creation, and yet, God SO LOVED the World, that He Gave His Only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall have Eternal Life. There will be a Day when we are not bound by time and space. We'll be able to "rest" in a New Heaven and a New Earth.

This may sound like an old-fashioned notion, but I kind of like being an Old-Fashioned Gal!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Joining in prayer. You are to be commended for your persistence! This senior was out this morning watering vegetation. . . and I had to marvel and praise God for all of the flowering trees, flowers, bushes, berries, etc. (I’m one of those if it ain’t on sale I don’t usually buy). I’m a perennial type gardener. . .and what I planted last year some didn’t do so well .. . but this year they don’t look like the same plants. We aren’t going to have rain for some time and it is in the 90’s already. . . perhaps
God will help me with a pre flood watering system :)
