Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 90

BOOK IV

Psalms 90–106

Psalm 90

A prayer of Moses the man of God.

1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place
    throughout all generations.
2 Before the mountains were born
or you brought forth the whole world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

3 You turn people back to dust,
saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.”
4 A thousand years in your sight
are like a day that has just gone by,
or like a watch in the night.
5 Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death—
they are like the new grass of the morning:
6 In the morning it springs up new,
but by evening it is dry and withered.

7 We are consumed by your anger
    and terrified by your indignation.
8 You have set our iniquities before you,
our secret sins in the light of your presence.
9 All our days pass away under your wrath;
we finish our years with a moan.
10 Our days may come to seventy years,
    or eighty, if our strength endures;
yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,
for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
11 If only we knew the power of your anger!
Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due.
12 Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

13 Relent, Lord! How long will it be?
    Have compassion on your servants.
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
for as many years as we have seen trouble.
16 May your deeds be shown to your servants,
    your splendor to their children.

17 May the favor[a] of the Lord our God rest on us;
establish the work of our hands for us—
yes, establish the work of our hands.

Oh LORD,
Our God,
How Excellent is Your Name Over All The Earth!
We Worship and Bow Down Before You,
Oh Father,
For You,
and You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are Holy,
You Alone Are The One True God.

Abba Father, We Are in Awe of Your Magnificence!
We Thank You For Your Glorious Living Word,
Which is Not Only a Guide For Living,
But the Very Foundation of our Laws and Our Liberties.
We Thank You For Your Magnificent Word,
Which We Beg You to Engrave Deeply
Upon The Tablets of Our Hearts.

Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our Beloved USA
We Ask That Your People Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Good Morning, Prayer Warriors! I just installed a new computer, and I am NOT happy. It does not seem to have the capabilities of my old computer, and has made all of my OWN music inaccessible. It does things I don't want it to do, and can't do things I want it to do. This is after I had support supposedly transfer all the data from one computer to the other. It has become my conclusion that the newer computers actually STIFLE creativity rather than enhance it. Thank goodness I still have the old one that still plays my music, burns cd's, accepts my coding, and does what I ask it to do without ASSUMING I want something different. I'll keep this new one set up for daily use, but for music production, I will save the old one as an archive.

Now many of you have been with us since I started this Thread nearly twelve years ago. The format has remained fairly constant through at least four computers, laptops, PC's and Macs, and in four different houses. (Thank You, JimRob for this site that has allowed me to do this ministry!) I can say with perfect assurance that this latest incarnation has had the most difficult learning curve. Oh Well, I guess I'm just a dinosaur.

Now, most of you have noticed that I use the NIV translation for this thread. For my own personal study, I use a 1985 NIV Study Bible that I bought for $8.00 ay a Yard Sale. It is becoming more and more difficult to find this NIV online. There is a translation CALLED the NIV, but it is from a more recent time, and some of the words have changed. Every day we seem to hear of a "new" translation with an agenda. Either the "translators" want to eliminate words they consider "racist", "sexist", "Nationalistic", or whatever, they are choosing different words, without citing the change. Unless one has hard-copy of the original, there is no way one would know this has been done.

I recently typed out all the lyrics to all my songs with the chord changes. I can still burn cd's (with my OLD computer) but it is becoming increasingly difficult to find either a CD player or a computer that will play them. I feel, as many older folks do, that I am being "erased"

Unlike the cyber-world, the Word of God abides forever. Heaven and Earth will all pass away, but the Word of God will not change. My two biggest passions, Art and Music, are temporary. Only God is Forever, and He will never be "erased". I am looking forward to my BIG UPGRADE.

Come and Pray Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America!

Yes. I feel “erased”, too. I am so glad that we are never, no never “erased” from the Book of Life!

Praying with you for the enlightenment, protection, favor, mercy and grace of God for all Israel.

Love Psalm 90. It goes so well with O God, Our Help in Ages Past: https://youtu.be/N-hN740J6qA

And I guess your old computer was as old as Moses.

Welcome back...and keep on going.

You’re right about “new” translations that want to take out gender. Yet, God choose His pronouns: He/Him/His... And why don’t translators show the same respect for God as for LGBQT?

Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.

I for one totally believe all these ‘changes’ put on us by big tech is not really for the consumer’s benefit at all.

Absolutely. They are there to protect copyright holding HUGE Corporations and other multi-billionaires. The problem is that I AM the copyright holder on my own music, and can't accesss it now.

But I have a Secret Weapon. My BRAIN! LOL.
