Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 53

Psalm 53[a]

For the director of music. According to mahalath.[b] A maskil[c] of David.

1 The fool says in his heart,
    “There is no God.”
They are corrupt, and their ways are vile;
    there is no one who does good.

2 God looks down from heaven
    on all mankind
to see if there are any who understand,
    any who seek God.
3 Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt;
    there is no one who does good,
    not even one.

4 Do all these evildoers know nothing?

They devour my people as though eating bread;
    they never call on God.
5 But there they are, overwhelmed with dread,
    where there was nothing to dread.
God scattered the bones of those who attacked you;
    you put them to shame, for God despised them.

6 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
    When God restores his people,
    let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our God,
How Excellent is Your Name Over All The Earth!
Blessed Are You,
King of The Universe,
And Sanctified is Your Most Holy Name!
How Happy we are to be called of You,
To Come into Your House With Singing and Praise,
To Exalt Your Name Together, Forever!
We Seek You,
and Find You,
And You Deliver Us From Our Fears.

Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our Beloved USA
We Ask That Your People Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The Babylon Bee has become a big favorite on this site and many others. I like it better than The Onion for spot-on satire. The best humor comes when one starts reading an article, and it is so close to reality that it seems to be true, and then there is a "punch-line" that unveils the article as a spoof. Of Course! It's SATIRE! It's The Babylon Bee! I should have KNOWN! Ha Ha Ha!

Many modern-day comedians have stopped touring college campuses because true comedy is not "politically correct". Careers, Marriages, Families, and Lives are being destroyed because of something that may have been said in jest or misconstrued, sometimes years ago. A JEOPARDY! contestant who made a hand signal that he had won three games in a row (The OK sign) is now being excoriated as a "White Supremacist". I am glad I never did get to go on the show, if that's what happens to previous contestants. I don't even take the online test anymore. Imagine if I won, and someone found out I was a FReeper!

Anyway, the meaning of the word "Fool" has changed a lot over the centuries. In Shakespeare's plays, the "Fool" was a Professional Jester, whose job was to amuse and placate the King. The "Fool" could get away with some pretty pointed remarks because it was SATIRE. In order for satire to work, there has to be an element of truth in it, or it is no longer "satire". It may be slapstick comedy, or buffoonery, but it is NOT Satire.

In the Book Children of the Arbat, a man is sent to the Gulag for chuckling at (not even telling!) a joke about Stalin. This is an extreme case of "Political Correctness" on steroids. I think it is safe to say that the LEFT has no sense of humor. It is ironic that some of the best and most fearless comedians of the Twentieth Century (such as Mel Brooks and Rob Reiner) have become spokespeople for the very Left that would destroy any dissidents even if the offense was just a jest.

The "Fool" in the Biblical sense, was not a jester, or a comedian, or even a satirist. The Biblical Fool is also not a person who is mentally impaired. The Biblical Fool is impaired in the Heart. He is prone to wickedness because he says there is no God. If there is no God, then, to the Fool, there are no consequences to his evil behavior. That kind of "Fool" might actually have a high IQ and be quite eloquent, but does more damage than a "poor fool" who doesn't know any better. As Actor Mr. T says: "I pity the fool." The Biblical fool may prosper on earth for a season, but faces a Godless eternity. That is FOOLISH indeed!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America!

Psalm 12

To the leader: according to The Sheminith. A Psalm of David.

1 Help, O Lord, for there is no longer anyone who is godly;
the faithful have disappeared from humankind.
2 They utter lies to each other;
with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.

3 May the Lord cut off all flattering lips,
the tongue that makes great boasts,
4 those who say, ‘With our tongues we will prevail;
our lips are our own—who is our master?’

5 ‘Because the poor are despoiled, because the needy groan,
I will now rise up,’ says the Lord;
‘I will place them in the safety for which they long.’
6 The promises of the Lord are promises that are pure,
silver refined in a furnace on the ground,
purified seven times.

7 You, O Lord, will protect us;
you will guard us from this generation for ever.
8 On every side the wicked prowl,
as vileness is exalted among humankind.

Good points.

Remember Nick Sandmann and his “facecrime” for wearing a MAGA hat and smiling while being harassed? (He fought back and sued big time.)

Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.
