Another way this question is asked is whether or not people born before Jesus can even be saved, and if so, how?

Christ has removed our sin as far as the east from the west. Therefore there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. I guess it all boils down to if you believe Cbrists saving work is sufficient or not. If you think it is not where will you find salvation. In your own suffering and feeble attempts to atone? I think not
The notion that every moron reading the Bible in translation is somehow equipped to interpret the word of God just makes me want to giggle. It’s why Protestant churches are constantly riven by schism, fall into heresies far worse than any notion of purgatory, and why many quickly adopt any sinful doctrine like “gay marriage” pushed by the political and economic elites.
And yet, Christian churches continue to suckle on the Catholic Church, ironic huh?
The bible calls these Christian churches Harlots. The Catholic church of course being the Great Whore.

Many Protestant denominations do not think that infant baptism is appropriate because you are supposed to be conscious of what you are affirming.
Well, what about sudden death in battle or falling into delirium from infection and then passing away without a chance to consciously repent?
It seems a little cruel that you go to hell because you didn't get a time-out to repent or passed away with dementia.
Insisting on a literal interpretation of the Bible while diminishing the opportunities for the gift of salvation seems a little odd to me.
And Protestants have murdered and tortured their own and Catholics too....so what is your point?
Sins of the clergy does not change the theology of Protestants any more than it does Catholics...so what is your point?
My POINT is that the Catholic church is the Antichrist power CLEARLY described in the bible.
EVERY SINGLE CRITERIA points to the Catholic church.
The Catholic church has systematically murdered, or otherwise caused the death of, more people than any institution, country, or sovereignty in earth’s history, and all in the name of HERESY. That is a FACT.
SYSTEMATIC PERSECUTION/MURDER OF GOD’S SAINTS BY THE ANTICHRIST POWER IS MY POINT.
So basically someone who believes in an assurance of salvation because may not really be saved if they persist in sin and unrepentance. Like divorce and remarriage for insistance.

Are you really asking honest questions? I don’t think you are. If you’re wedded to catholicism, then there’s no answer from the Word of God that I can give you that you will accept, because you don’t believe it.
Someone who persists in sin, at the very least, lacks understanding of the Bible and its clear instructions. You go ahead and have the “last word,” because I can see you’re one of those who will never stop arguing a losing point.
Or you could just take a trip in the Freerepublic Wayback Machine and read up on everything that has ever been discussed about this matter and a lot of others.
