We Catholics believe that the pope should function as our chief religious teacher on earth. Those who have read me before will know that I think the present pope, Francis, is quite literally the worst one in history. Yes, worse than those elected via bribes in the Renaissance, or appointed by courtesans before that. They were corrupt but orthodox, and didn’t forge secret alliances with the Communist Party of China.
Francis’ teachings — all offered, cautiously, at a non-infallible level for fear of lightning bolts — throw doubt on historic doctrines, undermine the words of Jesus, and defy the Covenant of Noah. I’d believe Jack Chick had seized control of our church from beyond the grave, were such coups really possible.
But the wise man open to Truth can learn even from error. One of the most potent teachers in life is the study of blunders and falsehoods. Engineers pore over the black boxes from airliners that crashed. Philosophers set their students to pick apart logical fallacies.

That doesn’t make sense. The Pope isn’t doing what Jack Chick would do.
I think he means he’d believe Jack Chick was right.
The antichrist is not one person, it has been around for a long time. In these final days it will be given a lot of power, however, and concentrated in a few individuals. That’s what I think, anyway.
There’s been a lot worse popes than this one. Popes responsible for the deaths of millions of Bible believing Christians.
I honestly think this guy is too dopey to be the antichrist. I don’t think anyone is deceived by him at all. They just look for him to reinforce their own silly, vapid version of “Christianity” that they are too ignorant or stubborn to recognize as a farce.
An avid Jack Chick fan, I see.
Jack Chick hated hippies, commies and believed in God.
Compared to what you have he would almost be an upgrade.

God is not some old doting grandfather. He is God. He is not nice, He is Good.
Jesus overturned the tables of money changers and called the Pharisees White Washed Tombs. He continually mocked them, and rubbed their nose in it.
I know more than one “Christian” who is offended by those stories and say “He was very DISREPECTFUL!”
When we strive to put God in a box, it never works out well.
That’s not what the Church teaches at all. Yes, there will be many “anti-Christs,” insomuch as they inhabit the spirit of Anti-Christ. So, Marx would be a good example of an Anti-Christ. But, there will at some point come THE Anti-Christ, and he will be ONE specific person fulfilling the prophecies we see in the Bible.

The Church should teach what the Bible teaches. Jesus made many references to things which appear literal, but are in fact spiritual. I refuse to believe that any living person made in God’s image can be something straight from Hell.
