Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 32

Psalm 32

Of David. A maskil.[a]

1 Blessed is the one
    whose transgressions are forgiven,
    whose sins are covered.
2 Blessed is the one
    whose sin the Lord does not count against them
    and in whose spirit is no deceit.

3 When I kept silent,
    my bones wasted away
    through my groaning all day long.
4 For day and night
    your hand was heavy on me;
my strength was sapped
    as in the heat of summer.[b]

5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you
    and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess
    my transgressions to the Lord.”
And you forgave
    the guilt of my sin.

6 Therefore let all the faithful pray to you
    while you may be found;
surely the rising of the mighty waters
    will not reach them.
7 You are my hiding place;
    you will protect me from trouble
    and surround me with songs of deliverance.

8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
    I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
9 Do not be like the horse or the mule,
    which have no understanding
but must be controlled by bit and bridle
    or they will not come to you.
10 Many are the woes of the wicked,
    but the Lord’s unfailing love
    surrounds the one who trusts in him.

11 Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous;
    sing, all you who are upright in heart!

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our God,
How Excellent is Your Holy Name!
How Glorious,
How Hallowed,
and How Wonderful!
You Alone Are Worthy Of Praise
For You Alone Are Holy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are Worthy,
And You Alone Are The One True God.
We Thank You For Your Holy Word,
Even When it Doesn't Seem to fit in with our finite way of thinking,
even if it "rubs us the wrong way",
even if it "doesn't seen fair".
For Your Ways are so above our ways, who can fathom it?

Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our Beloved USA
We Ask That Your People Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 97

1 The Lord is king! Let the earth rejoice;
let the many coastlands be glad!
2 Clouds and thick darkness are all around him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
3 Fire goes before him,
and consumes his adversaries on every side.
4 His lightnings light up the world;
the earth sees and trembles.
5 The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
before the Lord of all the earth.

6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness;
and all the peoples behold his glory.
7 All worshippers of images are put to shame,
those who make their boast in worthless idols;
all gods bow down before him.
8 Zion hears and is glad,
and the towns of Judah rejoice,
because of your judgements, O God.
9 For you, O Lord, are most high over all the earth;
you are exalted far above all gods.

10 The Lord loves those who hate evil;
he guards the lives of his faithful;
he rescues them from the hand of the wicked.
11 Light dawns for the righteous,
and joy for the upright in heart.
12 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous,
and give thanks to his holy name!

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

One of the ugliest aspects of our current cultural morass is the lack of forgiveness. Both publicly and privately, this barren, blighted attitude destroys careers, beaks up families, and breaks up marriages. Some of the grievances are very real and need to be aired, but others are imaginary or so far in the past that nobody else remembers them.

Social Media has decreed that even if a word SOUNDS like an offensive one, or even if the charge is false, the aggrieved person is always in the right and the "offender" deserves to be "canceled". Often, things that were cultural norms in their own day (like WW2 Airplane Nose Art) are now "politically incorrect". People who were innocent back then are guilty NOW.

This is exactly what is meant by the Latin phrase ex post facto means in the Constitution. If what was once legal and acceptable becomes illegal and unacceptable, one can not prosecute a person who did that thing before it was "banned". (Of course, sin is sin no matter what era is occurs. This is about cultural norms.)

When Mark Twain, Dr. Seuss, "Gone With The Wind", "Baby, It's Cold Outside", and certain statues get banned, it doesn't affect one personally, but when somebody's house gets burned down because they were "doxxed" on FB, or a man loses his job over an idiotic prank he did in High School, it becomes more serious. No amount of apology, repentance, reparations, or atonement is enough. The person is ruined. There is NO forgiveness. (There is a political agenda behind it all, and so there is a marked disparity between the treatment of the "sinner", based upon their political persuasion.)

This grim scenario is the exact opposite of the Judeo-Christian Worldview. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has ALWAYS offered a way of forgiveness, from Adam & Eve all the way to The Cross. Once forgiven, the sin is remembered no more, and God casts it into the deepest part of the sea. This is the gist of David's Psalm. "Blessed is he whose sin is forgiven" gives us hope and joy that the world can't give. It is a Peace that Passes Understanding.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America!
