RE: only 10% hold to a Biblical worldview
The moment people encounter certain commands or principles in the Bible that conflict with the lifestyle they want, they rationalize the Bible away or simply say that it’s a manmade opinion that has no bearing on how they live.
*THAT* is the kind of Christianity many self-professed Christians practice.
Absolutely spot on, SeekAndFind.
It is a ‘little flock’...
Notice how she jumps right to the crux of the matter — do you believe Jesus is God?
I do that all the time.
Most people who CALL themselves Christian do not know that Jesus is God.
What pare of “many are called, but few are chosen” didn’t you understand?
I’ve met some people who make exceptions to the 10 commandments.
For example, they say they had a difficult childhood, so it’s hard to honor their father and mother when they become adults, and talk of how their parents just aren’t good people.
And I recall a conversation with someone, who.had been caught up in adultery, who said consenting adults doing something is not the same as killing someone.
Those who claim to be Christian, but unrepentantly voted for Demonicrat political candidates are blatant hypocrites.
Sadly, this is not surprising. In Titus 5:9, Paul admonished that (a pastor/elder): “He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.” [ESV] Pastors and elders need to rebuke those who persist in non-biblical doctrine.
Part of the problem is that different people have different ideas about just what the correct “Biblical worldview“ is.
Person A’s viewpoint is different than Person B’s. And each person can defend his position with scripture. So Person A doesn’t see Person B as a “true” Christian, and vice versa.
I’m not saying that the author of the article is wrong. I’m just pointing out something I see frequently among my friends and family.
You are either dead, or alive - there is no middle ground.
Considering the moral climate in this country, that sounds about right.
Depending on the definition, I think that is correct.
Wheat and Tares.
God has been drawing all sorts of lines in the sand over the past few years.
It’s why we are told “few” find the narrow gate.
While its true that adultery is not as heinous a crime as intentional murder, you can’t get into heaven even if you just lied one time and didn’t seek Jesus as the propitiation for your one-time-only sin. Break one command and they all are broken. Don’t repent and seek God’s forgiveness and you don’t go to heaven either. We must be holy as God is holy and Jesus is the only way to become holy.
I had a challenging childhood. Enough that there was a time where my mother and I hated each other.
I knew it was wrong. Still struggled with it. Didn’t make excuses for it.
Same time what she did was wrong. She later realized it and said so.
Even in the bad times, we both knew there was sin.
I have family with same sex attraction disorder. They are also Christians, and struggle with it. They have fallen, but repent and get back up.
The 10 commandments are simple but extremely hard. Our whole society is based off of covetousness for starters.
All Joking aside, we shouldn't be okay with this. But how to fix it? It's not like Americans aren't exposed to the gospel.
A Biblical worldview: We are all sinners. Jesus died in our place. We need only believe and accept His redeeming Grace.

Long ago, 2 Timothy 3:1-9 described us and these times now, even Christians, too, those “having a form of godliness but denying its power.”
In one of his sermons about false idols, I think, Adrian Rogers was saying that many don’t read or believe what the Bible says, including about Jesus.
Though they say they believe in Jesus, they don’t know what the Bible actually says, and, of those who do, some don’t believe all it says.
Instead, those people have made and worship a false idol of their own knowledge, rather than worshiping the true God: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, in Scripture.
