Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 9
Psalm 9[a][b]
For the director of music. To the tune of “The Death of the Son.” A psalm of David.
1 I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.
3 My enemies turn back;
they stumble and perish before you.
4 For you have upheld my right and my cause,
sitting enthroned as the righteous judge.
5 You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked;
you have blotted out their name for ever and ever.
6 Endless ruin has overtaken my enemies,
you have uprooted their cities;
even the memory of them has perished.
7 The Lord reigns forever;
he has established his throne for judgment.
8 He rules the world in righteousness
and judges the peoples with equity.
9 The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
10 Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.
11 Sing the praises of the Lord, enthroned in Zion;
proclaim among the nations what he has done.
12 For he who avenges blood remembers;
he does not ignore the cries of the afflicted.
13 Lord, see how my enemies persecute me!
Have mercy and lift me up from the gates of death,
14 that I may declare your praises
in the gates of Daughter Zion,
and there rejoice in your salvation.
15 The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug;
their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.
16 The Lord is known by his acts of justice;
the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands.[c]
17 The wicked go down to the realm of the dead,
all the nations that forget God.
18 But God will never forget the needy;
the hope of the afflicted will never perish.
19 Arise, Lord, do not let mortals triumph;
let the nations be judged in your presence.
20 Strike them with terror, Lord;
let the nations know they are only mortal.
Footnotes
1. Psalm 9:1 Psalms 9 and 10 may originally have been a single acrostic poem in which alternating lines began with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet. In the Septuagint they constitute one psalm.
2. Psalm 9:1 In Hebrew texts 9:1-20 is numbered 9:2-21.
3. Psalm 9:16 The Hebrew has Higgaion and Selah (words of uncertain meaning) here; Selah occurs also at the end of verse 20.
New International Version (NIV)(End of Scripture Passage)
Psalm 9 is an Acrostic Poem. The Last Line is my favorite: "Let the Nations know that they are only mortal."

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father In Heaven,
Hallowed be Your Most Holy and Wonderful Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Our Devotion,
For You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are the True God of The Universe!
The Earth is Yours
And The Fullness thereof
You Control the Wind and The Rain
You Create a Lovely Spring Day
Or a Mighty Tempest.
Where can we run?
For When I Go to sleep at night,
You are with me.
When I awake in the morning,
You Are There.
You know my going out and my coming in.
You count every hair of my head,
And You keep all my tears in a bottle as a remembrance.
Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.
LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.
We Pray For Our Beloved USA
We Ask That Your People Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Before I came to Faith in Jesus, I was a huge fan of Classic Rock Music and early Reggae and, unfortunately, the paraphernalia that went along with all of that. My favorite album of that era was a live concert double album by Bob Marley called "Babylon by Bus".
Because Bob Marley was a Rastafarian, he believed that Haile Selassie (Emperor of Ethiopia from 1930 to 1974) was God in the flesh and that the whole world was "Babylon". As weird as this sounds, it wasn't too off-the-wall, as Haile Selassie could allegedly trace his ancestry to King David through the Queen of Sheba's son Menelek who said his father was King Solomon. That would have made him a "Son of David" and "From the Tribe of Judah". In fact, these were among his royal titles.
Disenfranchised people in Jamaica and Africa who believed that Haile Selassie was "The Second Coming" fully expected him to conquer the world and bring World Peace. Unfortunately, the beloved Emperor passed away, and, like all men, remained in his tomb. This would be a sad footnote in History, if it were not for the delightful form of music that issued forth from this movement called "Reggae".
One of my favorite songs on the Live Album (Small Axe) was a lesser-known Bob Marley song that borrowed heavily from Psalms and Proverbs. The refrain goes like this:
"Whosoever diggeth the pit
Shall Fall in it!"
Once again we see God's Principle of "Sowing and Reaping" carried out in this Psalm. The wicked fall into the pit that they have dug to entrap others. While it sometimes may seem to slow to suit us, God's timing is always perfect in the Cosmic Scheme of things. Those who are our enemies may seem to have the upper hand for a while, but soon, they begin to fall into their own traps that they have set for US. Sometimes we see this acted out right before our eyes, and sometimes it goes on behind the scenes, and we only find out about it later.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America!

Live from Boston, it's SATURDAY NIGHT!!!
let the nations know they are only mortal
Seems like there's a pretty clear sense of that traveling through this nation right now. But, while praying for Jerusalem, we don't neglect to include our fair land.

Re your first: “The wicked fall into the pit that they have dug to entrap others.” There is a lot of that going around.
Re your second: Around Chuck Jones’ territory, I was amused to find that there were days, when the clouds in the sky were very much like those in his cartoon work.
Re your third: Yes

Psalm 8
To the leader: according to The Gittith. A Psalm of David.
1 O Lord, our Sovereign,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
2 Out of the mouths of babes and infants
you have founded a bulwark because of your foes,
to silence the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars that you have established;
4 what are human beings that you are mindful of them,
mortals* that you care for them?
5 Yet you have made them a little lower than God,*
and crowned them with glory and honour.
6 You have given them dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under their feet,
7 all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
8 the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
9 O Lord, our Sovereign,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

O Love That Will Not Let Me Go
https://youtu.be/TvA6PYa54sg
Thank you, Lord, that Israel is Thine. You will never break your promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, nor to David, Solomon, or your church. You have a Millennial Kingdom in store for the righteous remnant whom you are preparing even now. Oh do keep them as the apple of Thine eye, dear Papa, and prepare them as the valley of dry bones is prepared - fully enfleshed and full of breath!
May their flight not take place in winter nor on the Sabbath. Be with the pregnant women and nursing mothers with powerful protection. May the supplies they will need at Petra (or wherever) be sent on ahead now in preparation, even as you have those who are preparing for the next Temple.
May the peace that passes all understanding clothe Jerusalem, Papa. We await your return.
