Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 5
Psalm 5[a]
For the director of music. For pipes. A psalm of David.
1 Listen to my words, Lord,
consider my lament.
2 Hear my cry for help,
my King and my God,
for to you I pray.
3 In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait expectantly.
4 For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness;
with you, evil people are not welcome.
5 The arrogant cannot stand
in your presence.
You hate all who do wrong;
6 you destroy those who tell lies.
The bloodthirsty and deceitful
you, Lord, detest.
7 But I, by your great love,
can come into your house;
in reverence I bow down
toward your holy temple.
8 Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness
because of my enemies—
make your way straight before me.
9 Not a word from their mouth can be trusted;
their heart is filled with malice.
Their throat is an open grave;
with their tongues they tell lies.
10 Declare them guilty, O God!
Let their intrigues be their downfall.
Banish them for their many sins,
for they have rebelled against you.
11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
12 Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
Blessed Are You,
Oh LORD, Our God,
King of The Universe
You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The One true God.
Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent,
There is No One Like You.
Keep us from becoming like the enemies of Your People.
Oh How They Conspire together, Father,
Against You and Your Beloved!
They Hate You and Your Law,
How Much More So Do They Despise Your Servants?
Give Us Peace in Our Hearts When We Look at These Situations,
And Give Us Insight into What Is REALLY Going On.
Open Our Eyes to The Spiritual Warfare that Is Taking Place,
So That We Will Be Armed properly,
And not take these attacks personally.
Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.
LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.
We Pray For Our Beloved USA
We Ask That Your People Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

In the Opening scene of "Fiddler on the Roof", The Townspeople ask the Rabbi if there is a Proper Blessing for The Tsar. The Rabbi responds with This Blessing. It is, of course, meant to be humorous, and I remember laughing the first time I saw it. It is, however, a good prayer. The wise old Rabbi was actually praying for God's protection over His people.
David was not afraid to ask God for protection against evil. He was open and transparent with God when it came to praying about his enemies. Does this conflict with Jesus's admonition to love our enemies and pray for them?
In my very humble opinion (seriously!) there is no conflict. Jesus never told His Followers to embrace evil. "Loving our enemies" is impossible in the human sense, but, when filled with God's Holy Spirit, we are able to see beneath the wicked deeds that there is a soul in there...somewhere. The wicked person is a person who is enslaved by evil. While we must never pray for evil to succeed, we can pray for those who are enslaved by it to be set free. We can also pray that evil is defeated, but always remember that Vengeance belongs to God alone. We are instructed to "Pursue Justice" (Deuteronomy 16:20), provide for Widows and Orphans (James 1:27), Protect the Helpless (Psalm 82:3-4), and preserve proper boundaries (Proverbs 22:28). Sometimes, doing these things will include violence. That's when we are called to be WARRIORS.
It's less complicated to just pick one verse of the Bible and build a whole religion on it, but God wants us to apply ALL of Scripture, including the verses about taking up a sword (Luke 22), putting on Armor (Ephesians 6), and Standing Firm (Colossians 1:23).
Wisdom is knowing when it's appropriate!
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God wants us to apply ALL of ScripturePreach it! We are to apply it literally, consistently and thoroughly. As Jesus was fond of demonstrating to His critics.

Psalm 82
A Psalm of Asaph.
1 God has taken his place in the divine council;
in the midst of the gods he holds judgement:
2 ‘How long will you judge unjustly
and show partiality to the wicked?
Selah
3 Give justice to the weak and the orphan;
maintain the right of the lowly and the destitute.
4 Rescue the weak and the needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.’
5 They have neither knowledge nor understanding,
they walk around in darkness;
all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
6 I say, ‘You are gods,
children of the Most High, all of you;
7 nevertheless, you shall die like mortals,
and fall like any prince.’*
8 Rise up, O God, judge the earth;
for all the nations belong to you!
