Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Yesterday, My Pastor and his wife took me out for Breakfast. We had a lovely time and we got to know each other better. I later said to him,

"In my 40 years as a Christian, I have never had a pastor who took me out for breakfast. But then, again, I have never had a pastor who fished my cell-phone out of the toilet either, and you've done BOTH!"

We had a good laugh over that.

Now, even though Pastor Frank had quickly retrieved my cell phone, it was still beyond repair and I had to order a new one. In the interim, Penny had an appointment at the Vet for a rabies shot. Due to COVID, I was supposed to wait in our car with the dog, call a number, have an Assistant come out to the car and pick up the dog and bring her inside, and then bring her back out to the car. Payment was to take place over the phone as well. But I had no phone. So it became a silly pantomime through a glass vestibule, wearing masks so I couldn't read lips, and my nerves being worn to a frazzle.

Then, a millennial couple in the car parked next to mine (BERNIE bumper-sticker) knocked on the window of my car and asked,

"Drr yerrrrr hvvv jumPAH cabbblzzz?"

"WHAT???" After several muffled iterations, I figured out that the couple's car was dead and they needed jumper cables. I had them, but am not adept at using them. I only know that if you do it incorrectly your car will blow up. Or at least kill MY battery too. Anyway, I got out and gave them my jumper cables and missed the assistant who came out to get Penny.

I donned the masque and brought Penny up to the vestibule again and made signals through the door. An assistant came to get her, and I said,

Please check that growth under her right front leg. I don't like the looks of it. It may need a biopsy."

OK, so that being done, I went back to my car and found the millennials with their hood opened, searching on the Internet for a tutorial on how to use jumper cables. They had one end of the jumper cables hooked up to their battery, and the man was holding the other end in the air, and looked at me expectantly.

"Do you know how to do this?" I asked.

"No, I was hoping YOU did." he replied.

"Do you have Triple A?" I asked.

"Yeah, but that costs money."

"Is somebody coming to give you a jump?" I asked.

"We were hoping that would be YOU." he answered.

During this exchange, Penny was finished with the Vet, and they were trying to contact me to pay the bill and retrieve her. I couldn't let the couple jump their car if they didn't know how to do it right. I was starting to get upset. Finally I calmly said,

"Neither of us know how to do this correctly. We could get really hurt if we do this wrong, and it could harm our cars as well. I think you need to call Triple A. I'm sorry. I wish I could help."

The man looked at me in disgust and handed me back the cables, I threw them in my car and went up the stairs to pay my bill and get Penny. While I was in the vestibule, AAA showed up and jump-started the car and they were gone.

For some idiotic reason, I felt GUILTY for not being more helpful. That's how my mind works sometimes.

Anyway, the biopsy came back as benign.

You may have noticed that my daily prayer has a new addition. It is based on a line in Matthew 10, "Let all that has been concealed, be revealed."

The growth under Penny's right-front leg turned out to be just a big age-related skin tag. My Vet said that, due to Penny's advanced age, he would not want to put her under anesthesia to remove something that was not malignant, and I agreed with him. In fact, I had something similar on my back just a few months ago, that I had not even know was there until my doctor discovered it.

Hidden things can be very dangerous. The potential for destruction can lie just below the surface, and we are sometimes clueless about it. No amount of searching the Internet for instructions or making up our own theories will work. The evil has to be exposed before it can be corrected.

Sometimes it is painful, but it needs to happen.

Also, I need to learn how to use JumPAH Cables.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America!

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Amen !!! <><

Psalm 129

A Song of Ascents.

1 ‘Often have they attacked me from my youth’
—let Israel now say—
2 ‘often have they attacked me from my youth,
yet they have not prevailed against me.
3 Those who plough ploughed on my back;
they made their furrows long.’
4 The Lord is righteous;
he has cut the cords of the wicked.
5 May all who hate Zion
be put to shame and turned back.
6 Let them be like the grass on the housetops
that withers before it grows up,
7 with which reapers do not fill their hands
or binders of sheaves their arms,
8 while those who pass by do not say,
‘The blessing of the Lord be upon you!
We bless you in the name of the Lord!
