Remember that Councils, just as with the first council, recorded in Acts 15 has the purpose to reaffirm the original teaching of Christ that was/is being questions. In Acts 15, the apostles did not make up new dogma but merely clarified the original deposit of faith.

so it is will all councils through the Apostolic succession. They reaffirm teaching that was given to the Church by the Apostles that is being questioned

the Doctrines are in agreement with the original deposit of faith given tot he Apostles, both written and oral. The original deposit was given to the disciples years before NT scripture was penned. This was the foundation of the Church - this truth of Christ.

SOME of this deposit was then written in scripture, some was scrupulously passed on as

“As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’ Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away” (Acts 13:2-3).

and

“Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership” (1 Timothy 4:14)

and

“For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every city as I commanded you” (Titus 1:5)
