Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
How Hallowed,
Magnificent,
and Sanctified
is Your Most Holy Name!
How Blessed and How True is Your Word,
and How Mighty!
How Glorious,
to Span the Millennia,
To be Unfettered by Time and Space,
To Know The End from the Beginning
and the beginning from The End!
For it is You, Oh LORD,
Who designed the Galaxies with Your Compass,
And Mapped Out the Vast Reaches of Space
With Your Word and Your Omniscient Imagination!
LORD, remind us ALWAYS to Worship You,
and not Your Creation.
Your creation is there but to proclaim YOUR GLORY.
Hallelujah and Amen.
Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.
LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.
We Pray For Our Beloved USA
We Ask That Your People Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

If you are as old as I am, you probably know these lyrics:
"Keep movin', movin', movin'
Though they're disapprovin'
Keep them dogies* movin'
Rawhide!
Don't try to understand 'em
Just rope and throw and brand 'em
Soon we'll be living high and wide.
My heart's calculatin'
My true love will be waitin'
Be waiting at the end of my ride."
(source: https://lyricsondemand.com/tvthemes/rawhidelyrics.html)
Even if you are a bit younger than I am, you may remember John Belushi singing this song in "The Blues Brothers". It is a wonderful description of the tough, iconic American Cowboy.
But what exactly is a cowboy except a herdsman? And this is a job that goes all the way back to Biblical times. There are cattle herders in the Bible, but they do not hold the special place of symbolism as the Shepherd.
A second look at the Rawhide song shows us that the cowboy had to DRIVE the cattle, chase them, rope them, wrestle them to the ground, and brand them with a hot iron. These skills were often demonstrated in manly contests, which have become the American Rodeo.
Meanwhile, we have the image of the Shepherd LEADING the sheep, rescuing them when they stray, and holding the lambs in His arms. This would make for a boring Rodeo, but I would rather be a Lamb in the Arms of My Savior, than a bull in a Rodeo any day of the week!
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America!

Psalm 92
A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath Day.
1 It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
to sing praises to your name, O Most High;
2 to declare your steadfast love in the morning,
and your faithfulness by night,
3 to the music of the lute and the harp,
to the melody of the lyre.
4 For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work;
at the works of your hands I sing for joy.
5 How great are your works, O Lord!
Your thoughts are very deep!
6 The dullard cannot know,
the stupid cannot understand this:
7 though the wicked sprout like grass
and all evildoers flourish,
they are doomed to destruction for ever,
8 but you, O Lord, are on high for ever.
9 For your enemies, O Lord,
for your enemies shall perish;
all evildoers shall be scattered.
10 But you have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox;
you have poured over me* fresh oil.
11 My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies;
my ears have heard the doom of my evil assailants.
12 The righteous flourish like the palm tree,
and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 They are planted in the house of the Lord;
they flourish in the courts of our God.
14 In old age they still produce fruit;
they are always green and full of sap,
15 showing that the Lord is upright;
he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

As a girl growing up in Roundup, Montana, I’ve seen many rodeos in my time. Even have my late father’s Montana brand registered to me—Bar Lazy T 4.
Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.

I knew we had a few Prayer Warriors who would be able to identify with today’s story!
Having grown up in Boston, I only know The Wild West from TV.

Amen.
We used to participate in a friend’s bi-annual roundup. Hubby pregnancy checked and vaccinated around 500 head those weekends. Others did the castrating and served up the Rocky Mountain oysters at the evening’s celebration. We could never figure out why it was on both the coldest and hottest weekends of the year! We were tough back then!
