The book was missing! The directors was certain it was on his desk when he went home that night but it completely vanished! In a Christian camp no less, two days 200 kids would show up, and there were only 6 persons who could be suspects: the life guard, nurse, the coach, the cook, the secretary and the groundskeeper. Moreover, there was one piece of evidence as a clue to who the guilty party was, and that was a broken carrot.

The directors book - "How to become a Christian?" - was considered essential for the coming camp event And so The Detective was called in. The director met him and expressed how greatly distressed he was over thus, lamenting that this was the worse thing that ever happened at the camp!

The detective first questioned him and carefully considered the scene of The Crime, and said he would have the boys at the lab test the carrot that was found on the carpet for finger prints - and mouth prints - thus attesting to the gravity of the matter. Which was not simply the missing book, but that which is signified, which was that someone at the camp was not a Christian (despite the light they had), this being the Crime of the Age!

The detective then set about questioning each of the suspects, one by one, all of whom denied taking the book, but each one differently asserted that they has seen one of the other suspects go into the directors office the night the book went missing. Moreover, each one said things that indicated that they themselves were not faithful Christians. But each one affirmed that they liked carrots.

Finally the detective had director serve a meal and made sure that carrots would be served, and afterward the wise detective gathered the director and all the suspects together to question then again. And the guilty party unwittingly confessed his guilt.

Who do you think it was?

Do they Clue much ???

If so, who do you think was the culprit? But it ends well, as planned.
