Thomas More is on trial because he would not take the Oath of Supremacy recognizing Henry VIII as the Supreme Governor of the Church of England, and failure to do so was treated as treason. Roman Catholics such as More had to take the Oath or were tried and usually executed.

Historically More was a enthusiastic persecutor of Protestants and other religious dissenters. English history remembered him as such until the success of that play & movie whitewashed over that part of his history. One of the relatively recent Elizabeth movies & particularly the TV series Wolf Hall shed some light on that part of his past.
I think the comparison to Thomas Moore’s trial is apt, but are you seriously suggesting they would dare sentence him to death?
If so, that is preposterous - he is perfectly safe to go to DC - and I dearly hope he does.
For the sake of the Republic, he needs to take this final opportunity to argue on behalf of We the People that the 2020 election was indeed stolen.
If he does this, hundreds of millions of people around the world will tune in to what will be, by far, the most watched live television broadcast in history.
With such a massive audience, let them try to silence him. Let them try to withhold evidence. Let them try to put words in his mouth. Let them try to deny him due process.
They will be in a terrible bind - because there is plenty of evidence to support the truth that the election was stolen - and if the public sees them blocking presentation of witnesses and suppressing evidence on live TV, they will go ballistic.
Thanks to unprecedented media gaslighting and censorship, most of the the public has not even heard a whisper of our side of the argument.
The ONLY way the Democrats have gotten away with stealing this election thus far, has been by denying President Trump his due process, and by hiding the truth from the public.
If he gets to the Senate floor, and the live cameras are turned on, and he is determined to fight - he can still win this.
I think they will not only refuse to invite him, but they will do everything in their power to make sure he doesn’t show up.
I think THAT is the real reason for the razor wire, fences and the hostile militarized enclosure; to prevent President Trump from ever getting his day in court.
Church of England kings murdered Catholics and persecuted Protestant dissenters for almost 300 more years.
