I wonder, if what you are saying is true, if it has to do with plasticity of English. A person trying to drive out demons using Latin may know the meaning of the terms but his mind doesn’t have to play the same inner word games as he would with English. The Demons may pick up on the energy being used to use the English terms correctly in proper context to give the exorcist a harder time. With Latin or Greek or Aramaic a person need be fasted and prayed up and cite the “ritual” words having a more precise knowledge as to what the words mean and how to say them and in what order.
Using English may invite the demons to simply argue if the exorcist really knows what “IS” is and if he truly knows what he is doing! Then again there is such thing as THE HOLY SPIRIT who is working behind the scene to drive the Demon out at the behest of the faithful priest or pastor...so in the end it probably doesn’t matter what language is being used. THE HOLY SPIRIT can translate any language into the blunt language the demons will understand and have to obey!
PRAISE; not Hail...
THIS reply was supposed to come before the last one?
Acts 19:16-17
Eventually, one of the evil spirits answered them, “Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?”
Then the man with the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. The attack was so violent that they ran out of the house naked and wounded.
Alex: Sorry; but you added an ‘ess’ to it, and we can’t accept your answer.
Contestant: Rats!
That’s why I mentioned fasting and praying and the work of the Holy Spirit>
Paul’s simple blunt command to the lady of divination I believe was most eloquent in terms of brevity and specificity of purpose.”“I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” (And instantly it left her.)
I’ll bet he said it in Greek, not Latin!
The men didn’t have the Holy Spirit so they were wide open for attack...no matter what mumbo jumbo they used.
Boone is not exactly a hot bed of Catholicism. I lived there for 5 years and couldn’t tell you where the Catholic church was. The church probably catered more to Floridians who came in the summer and that has waned in the last 20 years.
I hear the exorcist command prayer is most effective in original Klingon!
“The most liberal ones are usually those which are closest to Catholicism.”
I can only wonder how one person can become so desperately, catastrophically wrong about so much, and that in the span of only one lifetime. Smells like supernatural evil.
Paging Mr. Dunning. Paging Mr. Kruger. Please collect your patient at the exit.
Meaning per usual, due to absence of any valid argument of refutation and substantiation, you are reduced to mere fallacious vile ad hominem, thus once again providing testimony to why one should not be a Catholic. And it remains that “The most liberal [major] ones are usually those which are closest to Catholicism” from Anglicans to Episcopalians to most Lutherans and Methodists to Inclusive Orthodox to the Old Catholic Church to the Presbyterian Church to the UCC in contrast to fundamentalist/evangelicals - your major enemies.
Acts 19:11-14 ESV
11 And God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched his skin were carried away to the sick, and their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them.
13 Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.”
14 Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were doing this.
They must have had some success at their trade to be described as such.
Study this article carefully, and try to gain some insight into your malfunctioning cognitive processes.

More of the same desperate recourse, and thus more testimony against being a Catholic. Thank you.
I wouldn’t discuss molecular biology with a garden slug. Why would I discuss theology with you?
Sometimes blind stupidity is so obnoxious that it provokes me to comment on it, that’s all.
Even a garden slug knows about the salt of the earth.
But I say unto you,
Love your enemies,
bless them that curse you,
do good to them that hate you,
and pray for them which despitefully use you.
Matthew 5:44 KJV
I await the Department of Redundancy Department to chime in on this one.
Thank you one again for the further confirmation that being a Catholic should be avoided. All one has to do is post a manifest truth that impugns Catholicism and ad hominems are resorted to due to lack any substantiated argument to the contrary. And so I will leave you (if you will leave) with some wisdom from the mod that applies to your necessary recourse.
The demeanor of the poster says more about his own confession than the post says about yours....If the other guy is throwing spitwads at you on an “open” thread it probably means he has run out of ammunition. Take it as a backhanded compliment. You won, walk away.
Bye for now.
Pity, not at all. If you have difficulty understanding that Joseph Smith truly saw the Father and the Son, and the Book of Mormon is exactly what he said it was, you cannot reconcile Revelation from those who followed in Joseph’s footsteps.
