Bowser Eases Limits on DC Religious Gatherings After Catholic Church Lawsuit

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser eased attendance caps for religious gatherings Wednesday after the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington sued the mayor over attendance limits introduced amid the recent surge in coronavirus cases.

The modification gets rid of the 50-person limit for religious gatherings put in place last month and allows places of worship to reach 25% capacity, up to a maximum of 250 worshipers.

Bowser’s alteration to the November restrictions will go into effect 12:01 a.m. Thursday — nearly a week before Christmas.

Wow, when I first read this, I was thinking we were talking about Bowser from Sha Na Na and wondering why he has any say about what churches can do.

I think it’s time for me to eat dinner.

I'm sure the diocese's only interest is that no customers means an empty collection plate. No bucks, no Buck Rogers.

We wouldn’t be going through any of this if our bishops had done their jobs and fought for us.

There should be no restrictions on going to church. Keep Democrats away from the Bill of Rights!

Glad to see the dictatorial Marxist bitch got put into the pound, at least for a while. Like a rabid dog, she’ll be back but with some painful memories.

She could have been a “contender” for a decent DC mayor but she decided to go to the “dark site”, like Mayor For Life Crackhead/Crackpumper Marion Barry.

DC is paying for it. We no longer feel that we are safe going into DC, even to where I was supposed to work at a new govt facility (3 murders near it in a couple months).

Can’t and won’t ride the subway to the northern outer stations. Too much violent crime by young black thugs and a couple murders to boot.

The biggest mistake the Congress made was to give DC “Home Rule”. It will take another 25 years before they can raise enough decent politicians (if that is possible) to run the city in an honest, transparent, and efficient way.

I worked with some really great black, Asian, Hispanic, etc. people and miss them very much. We worked as a team and did our jobs well. (This was in a major govt DOJ office). Trying to deal with the DC govt on getting back money incorrectly sent to them (no one knows why) has two choices - find W2 documents that support my position for the return of MY MONEY, or if they decide against me anyway, not to get any at all.

FT!!!

Hey Cat, the same thought crossed my simple mind also.

Too much fun they were.
