Texas SB 317 which became law in 2019 did away with any license requirement for feral hogs as long as the hunter has landowners consent. With landowner consent the hunter technically becomes an “agent” of the landowner for the purpose of hog hunting.

Hunting laws are still applicable such as hunting from a roadway (NOT COOL), distance from houses, etc.
Unlike other game feral hogs can be baited. If caught taking a deer from a site purportedly baited for hogs the consequences are big including loss of firearm, fines, loss of hunting privileges (licensing) or even jail time.
