SUNRISE, FLA. (WSVN) - A man was caught by a Sunrise church’s surveillance cameras vandalizing a statue of Jesus, knocking it off its pedestal, smashing it to pieces and setting the garden where it once stood on fire.
Sunrise Police said the man went on a rampage at Saint Bernard Catholic Church near North University Drive and Sunset Strip at around 1:20 a.m., Sunday.
“It’s very unsettling. It’s upsetting,” Babette Heron, the church’s office manager, said. “These statues have been with St. Bernard’s for over 30 years and have a lot of sentimental value, and price-wise, we’re looking at $6,000 worth of damage.”
Parishioners said they are coming to terms with the man who was caught on video vandalizing the statue.
In the video, the shirtless man could be seen approaching the statue of Jesus outside the parish center, raises his arms with a heavy object in hand and smashes the statue. Two other statues were decapitated and tossed in a nearby sewer.
After the man smashed the statue of Jesus, he returned to pour an accelerant all over the garden where the statue once stood. After he poured the accelerant, he sent the garden up in flames.

Make him pay full restitution to include installation costs. Then he can serve his time.

WOW, I didn’t know that disabled mongoloids were freaks...I always thought of them as people made in the image of the living GOD.

I think Jesus responded to a comment similar to yours and He said you don’t know what kind of Spirit you are of.
I would expect nothing less from a typical roman...speak horrible words against the helpless disabled all the while wanting to kill someone while defending the horrid ungodly practice of idol worship.
The only way you could get further from GOD would be hell itself. Repent and accept the true Lord Jesus Christ.
So besides the secular destruction of private property what exactly is ungodly about this even if it was the risen Luther?

I will go on to say that this man may have a demon, but his actions are still more godly than your pope or catechism ever will be.
You quote scripture but proclaim Jesus to be one of “their” gods.

No where do I proclaim the Lord Jesus to be their GOD. I’ll say this really slow, I proclaim a graven image to be their god.
I hate to break the news to you, but that image isn’t the Lord Jesus nor does it represent the true Lord Jesus to anyone that has read and studied the Holy Word of GOD.
Over and over GOD and our Lord Jesus Christ tells us not to worship, serve, or have any kind of image.
Exodus 20:4
“You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.

You bow down to, pray to, and ask of divine favors from your god and the your idols, and statue, so besides the wording what’s the difference?
Something you idol worshipers never want to talk about is that Holy Scripture also includes bowing down to and SERVING as worship.
The minute you bow down, kiss, or pray to that idol you are serving it.
1 Kings 19:18, Exodus 20:5, Matthew 4:8-11.
You can play all the word games you want to, but you can’t dodge the SERVE game.
That makes you guilty of idol worship no matter what word you call it by.
