The deportation* of this family would probably deter future such incidences. This being France, the odds of this happening are probably zero.

* Their elimination would probably be more of a deterrent, but France being what it is today, deportation is probably the best that can be expected. The Albigensian Crusade and the Saint Bartholomew’s Day Massacre, started with far less provocation, might as well have happened in another universe, so distant are today’s French from the moral certitudes of those eras.
