A Mexican broadcaster said Thursday that the Vatican held back footage from a 2019 interview that it conducted with Pope Francis, in which the pope called for the passage of civil union laws for same-sex couples. That footage appears in a documentary on Pope Francis released this week, but the Vatican has not yet explained the situation.
A spokesman for Televisa told the Washington Post Oct. 22 that “Someone at the Vatican gave us the part that we did broadcast, and later they gave the rest of the material to someone else.”
The missing footage appeared in the documentary “Francesco,” directed by Evgeny Afineevsky, which premiered Wednesday in Rome, prompting a global media firestorm.
The Vatican has not addressed why the comments that were excised from the interview it sent to Televisa later appeared in the documentary.
Teresa Villa, a spokeswoman for Televisa, confirmed to the New York Times on Thursday that the pope made the statement about civil unions in an interview with the broadcaster’s Vatican correspondent, Valentina Alazraki, which took place last year. The interview was recorded with Vatican-owned cameras, and the network was given footage of the interview — but apparently not all footage — after the interview.

What is wrong with this pope? Homosexuals living in sin are not entitled to be treated like they are living according to the commandments. The pope is saying they are entitled to a family. What kind of family are two people of the same sex playing around with sex with no responsibilities? They are not living as a family. They are living as two people doing something wrong. Two serial killers living together are not entitled to a family. Why are two homosexuals entitled to a family? This pope is not a man of God. He is a heathen. He is not living according to what God dictates. He is making up his own rules. The Church should be letting him know that that is not alright. We all know that homosexuality is wrong. We all know that playing with sex without responsibility is wrong. So why are we letting goofballs like this pope and our legislators tell us different? It is time that that stops. Turn on them when they do this. Let them hear from you. Make some noise when they dump this crap on you. They are also affecting the young people who are easily influenced, and that is even worse. Pope Francis is a Jesuit. What do they indoctrinate these men with that makes them act this way? More slop comes out of the Jesuits than anybody else. No other religious order is as screwed up as the Jesuits. If you need proof, just look at what has come out of this pope’s mouth since he has been pope. I am hoping that God will step in and straighten out this man.
The Vatican has also not addressed why they censored the apostate's words in the first place. Are his keepers trying to keep him on a leash?
