Conservative News Sites Fuel Voter Fraud Misinformation (NYT alert)
New York Times ^ | October 25, 2020 | Tiffany Hsu

Posted on 10/25/2020 12:55:59 PM PDT by karpov

In the final stretch of the 2020 campaign, right-leaning news sites with millions of readers have published dozens of false or misleading headlines and articles that effectively back unsubstantiated claims by President Trump and his allies that mail-in ballots threaten the integrity of the election.

The Washington Examiner, Breitbart News, The Gateway Pundit and The Washington Times are among the sites that have posted articles with headlines giving weight to the conspiracy theory that voter fraud is rampant and could swing the election to the left, a theory that has been repeatedly debunked by data.

On Sept. 25, Gateway Pundit posted an article headlined “EXCLUSIVE: California Man Finds THOUSANDS of What Appear to be Unopened Ballots in Garbage Dumpster — Workers Quickly Try to Cover Them Up — We are Working to Verify.” The envelopes turned out to be empty and discarded legally in 2018. Gateway Pundit later updated the headline, but not before its original speculation had gone viral.

The Right Scoop published an article on Oct. 7 headlined “DESTROYED: Tons of Trump mail-in ballot applications SHREDDED in back of tractor-trailer headed for Pennsylvania.” The material was actually printing waste from a direct mail company. The publication later changed the headline to reflect that the claim had been debunked.

Another right-wing site, Daily Wire, posted a Sept. 24 article about ballots in Pennsylvania under the headline “FEDS: Military Ballots Discarded in ‘Troubling’ Discovery. All Opened Ballots were Cast for Trump.” Headlines on the same issue in The Washington Times were similar: “Feds investigating discarded mail-in ballots cast for Trump in Pennsylvania” and “FBI downplays election fraud as suspected ballot issues found in Pennsylvania, Texas.” A Washington Times opinion piece on the matter had the headline “Trump ballots in trash, oh my.”

I don't think the NYT cares about voting fraud that benefits Democrats. It wants to rule certain topics off-limits, another example being Hunter Biden's emails.

Nope, nothing to see here. Move along.

Didn’t Biden just say:

“We have put together, and you guys did it for President Obama’s administration before this, the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics,”

Now MAYBE he misspoke. Or MAYBE it was a slip. It was not “misinformation”.

You could provide these assholes with 100s of verified voter fraud cases ...and they still would say it doesn’t exist.

If any publication has expert knowledge of misinformation, it’s the NY Times.

When I read this, I wonder if we might consider the possibility that the media is not as evil as they seem.

Maybe they are just so profoundly ignorant of actual daily news and events that they write from a deep well of overconfidence in their narratives.

Leslie Stahl, despite a reputation as a central press figure, obviously hadn’t read even cursory summaries of the current discussion of Hunter Biden’s influence peddling.

The author of the New York Times piece has absolutely no interest in preventing vote fraud. He is only interested in the way the storyline is, or isn’t, advanced.

I support this suggestion of ignorance rather than evil by pointing out that narrative-based social science dominates departments at nearly all upper-level colleges and universities. Empirical social scientists gave up or were cancelled years ago. Media figures don’t even get basic training in using facts and research to challenge and balance social or political narratives.

Just for this reason, we cannot have popular vote. Crooks in Chicago could swing not just IL, but the whole USA. Ditto, NY, CA.

Actually, the Democrat Media, including The New York Times, have proven conclusively that massive Democrat vote fraud is true.

As we saw, when The New York Post came out with a true story about Hunter Biden's laptop, Facebook and Twitter immediately censored the laptop story.

The Democrat Media claims that the story is not true.

The Democrat Media refuses to investigate.

Have we seen this pattern before?

Yes - there is massive Democrat vote fraud.

THE EXACT SAME PATTERN.

Good. I hope they’re NOT manipulating the ballots, but I don’t trust them for a second.

Pennsylvania ballots can't be tossed out over voters' signatures, court says

This coming after court ruling that mail in ballots must be accepted even if received 3 days after election day.
