John Piper has issued a blistering condemnation of President Donald Trump, warning Christian voters that the president's “deadly behavior” will lead the U.S. to “destruction of more kinds than we can imagine.”
On Thursday, the influential pastor and writer published what he referred to as a “long-overdue” blog post in which he pondered the implications of the 2020 election.
Piper, who pastored Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis for almost 33 years, reminded Christians that "it is not a small thing to treat lightly a pattern of public behaviors that lead to death."
He pointed out that all of these sins are mentioned in the Bible and are “deadly” enough to destroy people and entire nations.
“I think it is a drastic mistake to think that the deadly influences of a leader come only through his policies and not also through his person,” he wrote. “This is true not only because flagrant boastfulness, vulgarity, immorality, and factiousness are self-incriminating, but also because they are nation-corrupting. They move out from centers of influence to infect whole cultures.”
“The last five years bear vivid witness to this infection at almost every level of society.”
Piper questioned why some Christians seem to be sure they are “saving human lives and freedoms” by ignoring the destructive effects of a “self-absorbed, self-exalting” leader.

If you are active in Evangelical Christian circles, you’ve heard of this guy. Piper’s more of a “reformed,” Calvinist bent, but very famous for many books and conference speeches that are praised even by Arminian Evangelicals.
I’ve never liked the guy, detecting more than a hint of phoniness in his manner. He overly tries to sound “gentle,” but ends up coming across as pussified. I really cringe every time I hear him. Never bought any of his “products.”

Sure, Trump is boastful. So was Obama. So are most politicians. The rest is BS. In the mind of this idiot, no candidate is good enough to lead our country. So I guess we just have to go without a president until 2024? Surrender our franchise and let others choose our leader?
You gotta get your priorities right. In the “somebody cussed” vs. the murder of millions of innocents, the “somebody said a naughty word” is what really upsets God.

Wonder how long John Piper, an obvious adherent of Moloch, has been child sex-trafficking?
Piper writes as if the church is in “business as usual” mode. While Trump’s New York manner of life and way of talking doesn’t suit him.
When this election will decide whether he will be allowed to continue his “business as usual” Christianity, or whether he will be under a totalitarian anti-Christian America under the democommies.
The fact that he rails against Trump, without nary a word against the democommies, is very telling.
Piper apparently hasn’t figured out when you elect a president you are not electing a pastor.
John Piper is a respected author and theologian in the Calvinist Christian community. He has great appeal with young Christian men, a college, and was formerly at Bethlehem Church in the Twin Cities.
In recent years he shows signs of wobbling in his opinions.
Aside from Sexual Immorality can someone point out the scripture says these are sins?
