An Old Friend of Mine Needs Your Prayers

Dear Prayer Warriors,

I just got an email concerning a dear friend of mine from way back who is in desperate need of your prayers.

Bob and I met over 40 years ago at an open-mike audition in Cambridge. Even though he sang country music and I sang blues and rock, we became good friends. He booked my band a couple of times, and oddly enough, our paths kept crossing again and again at recording studios, double-booked gigs, and so on. As an Activities Director in various elder facilities, I often booked Bob to entertain my clients, as he had a very nice show doing Oldies and Early Rock 'n Roll, like Buddy Holly and the Every Brothers. When I moved to Florida for a totally unrelated reason, I ended up buying a house in the same town as Bob and his wife, and he encouraged me to self-publish my first Book "Nuthin' But The Blues".

Bob entered my name into a contest, of which the First Prize was 1000 CD's, including re-mastering and cover design...and I WON. Such a deal was worth thousands of dollars, and it facilitated the publication and release of the first cd that I did all by myself. (My previous release involved three other artists). Bob was always thinking of his friends, and had a monthly music program at the Library where local artists could get exposure. I was already playing and teaching full-time, so I didn't really need "exposure" but I sometimes participated.

Even after I moved back to Massachusetts, I always sent Bob my daily meditations that I post here on FR. I did so today.

I got an email back from his wife. Bob is very sick, and in the hospital on a ventilator. He is not much older than I am, and this has upset me greatly. I know that Bob is a Believer, so there's that, but I just can't imagine him being so sick.

Could you all remember Bob in your prayers today?

Find people with similar conditions and similar recent news ASAP!!! Do not process this one alone, and there are things family and friends who are not going through it can't offer you, but that you need in order to get your freaked out shocked mind out of the way so it can just be between you and God. (That is in my opinion, but I have experience, not with cancer, but similar-ish things.)
